I'm really at home, Joe. It's working out much better than I had feared, but not as well as hoped, of course. The basics are a beast. You know, fixing meals, bathing, and that sort. It is not pain free.

Hi Roger,

Been a bit distracted the last couple of weeks and didn't read about your encounter with the vehicle. Sorry to hear about your accident. That trip home from the hospital is sure nerve-wracking as you face the unknown misalignment between what your body is telling you and what the insurance companies think is your recovery rate and ability to care for yourself at home. My first day home after my recent surgery, I spent standing up for as long as possible until my bladder was about to burst. I was afraid that once I got myself down on the throne, I'd not be able to get up again. Proved myself wrong on that one.

All that is to say that I have an unused portable potty chair and an unused walker with wheels. If either of them would be of benefit to you in your recovery, let me know and I'll figure out a way to get them shipped to you if the cost would be less than you purchasing them for yourself in NM.

Lynn

It's better to be home.

And you learn so much about yourself and your domicile.

- When I broke my right shoulder, I discovered that everything in my frigging house, doors, cabinets, laundry bin, kitchen drawers, would only open easily with a right hand....arggh....

and, although you don't realize it now, having pain during your recovery makes the boring stories you are going to tell about your recovery a lot less boring.

Roger's a stoic, minimalist, long-suffering type. I fear that this ^^^ translates to "It hurts like ****."

Take care...

Roger--

Takeout can be a godsend.

Microwave ovens are wonderful inventions.

Pain is not enobling. Pain is not weakness leaving the body. Pain is blatant discomfort.

yep, yep, yep

As Dorothy said, there's no place like home. It's the best place for you, Roger, even though it's difficult in many respects.

Good to see you posting. Hopefully you're days will be pain free soon.

I'm sure this is the first time I'm happy say that I DID, I DID, I DID See a RAT!!!

Yeah! Welcome back, you cute little thing. Just goes to show, try as they might, they can't make a good enough trap to keep down our Rattus norvegicus.

Missed you!
