Isn't he the the handsome puppy, ul! Smile

Dan, the whales aren't responding to the recordings yet. The same person who coaxed Humphry to return to the ocean 22 year ago {dang, doesn't seem that long ago} is working with the two whales. So far, nada. Rescuers arn't certain if background noise {aiplanes, news vehicles, injuries, etc. } may be the cause - nobody knows. The animals are 100 miles inland, swimming in a channel not far from the state Capitol building.

An interesting story bout the guy working to free the whales....
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-whisper19may19,0,4300110.story?track=ntothtml

Is it internet connections, or does it take longer each day to click at Care2

Dang, i could take a nap waiting for a page to load. Confused No DSL for the area beginning to annoy me. By the time the telephone company decides to get off their duffs, then i'll need a new computer!

Stradee, I, too, have been experiencing delays clciking in. It must be the site. And sometimes I get the message "You have already clicked today" when I know damned well that I haven't.

Visiting the hamburgers in Eastern Ontario for the Victoria Day holiday weekend.

I can hear a dog snoring in the chair behind me.

There's a train whistle.

The hamburgers and Setanta are laughing so hard they sound like they're going to cry. They're watching a DVD of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

There's a train whistle again.

The other dog must be hanging with the t.v. crowd right now.

Shocked

Oni looks so different with his haircut.

My two pooches are due for their spring brushcuts. I've got to get my nerve up to take them in.

Happy Victoria Day!
I hope you have the same glorious weather we are enjoying.

Oni is a very happy dog now. The long fur was too warm for him. I like his new look.

Stradee,
the sightseeing crowd will not help, I think.

This is a 'double report' for me - clicked yestrday and didn't post......

Stradee, maybe the whales don't like the recorded whale ?? There must be some feelings of familiarity, but, sometimes animals just don't like each other - just like human animals.

ul, I think you are right.

Merry Andrew, do you normally click your 'nickname' or your email address??

ul, Dan and all ~ Whales are very much herd oriented, so i'm willing to bet there are other causes of why the animals arn't responding. First, they're injured, next they swam 100 miles off course, and the fresh water of the channels murkey. yuk Attempting to hear other whale sounds with the confusion of trucks, planes, and people - for sure a bad situation for the whales. Plus, a nursing calf, a very nervous mom - doesn't look good for rescue efforts. Very sad for our whale visitors.

Merry, not certain if its dial or what, but when i click the thread link, the address doesn't appear on the first page at Care2 - so i click the link again - second window has the correct team address. The 'you've already clicked today' notification bugs me also - so i make certain to scroll to the rainforest 'click' using the wheel of the computer mouse. No sound - {f that makes any sense} and so far, all the clicks have counted.

Happy Victoria Day, ehBeth. Very Happy

Stradee, your note to Merry made me think....... Unusual, I know, but, think.
Last (Nov 06) we had a big Care2 shake-up of sorts, when we all had to verify our addresses.
The month before that (Oct 06), we as a team were clicking for approx (.033) acres each day. After the Care2 verification of addresses we immediately were clicking for approx (.015) acres per day. About one half as much. I couldn't figure why.
After your note to Merry - I clicked on the bookmarked URL in my Favorites that I click on each time to access the Race for Rainforest site and noticed what you had said, the URL address was NOT the site for our team - the one listed on page ONE of this thread. So, I clicked on the URL on page ONE of this thread that Merry listed - and, our teams Race for Rainforest page appeared. Since I have been clicking for the free click between each Login - I have been missing the free click for the team.
I have copied the team URL from page one and placed it back into my Favorites list and now will be clicking again for the team in between Logins.
All Logins - of course - are team clicks. But, I had lost the (in between) clicks for the team.
We can each check this by clicking our Bookmarked URL and comparing the address that shows with the URL listed on page ONE of this thread. If it's different, we should change it to the team URL and delete the standard one.
The AKTeam URL is = http://rainforest.care2.com/welcome?w=856730509 - this one counts for the team.
The Standard Care2 URL is = http://rainforest.care2.com/ - this one saves Rain Forest - but, doesn't count towards the team total.
Both pages are identical - but, the one with the number is our teams URL.
Thanks for the info.
Very Happy

Wow, that is good news, Dan! Glad they're on the move and hope Delta and Dawn get passed all the obstacles safely and arrive at the Gate before the three day holiday.

Still clicking the thread link twice for the correct address. The team address from my favorites doesn't work - so i click the link from the rainforest threads. What happens is - the address changes from the team link to the care2 link. So i click the link again, wait for the page to load with the team address, click for the rainforest, then close the first page and continue clicking for Oceans, Seals, etc. from the team address page. I'm glad you were able to explain the care2 reorganization and why team clicks decreased. Good job thinkin' Dan! Very Happy

Well, the weathers great, warm temps, and tomorrow is a free day! Will be staying home with kittens, gardening and reading. Hurray!

Clicking from the room in Kingston, complete with snoring dog.

~~~~~~~
I start my clicks from the www.care2.com starter. Only use the other one (the aktbird account link) when I'm trying to sort out something inside the account.
Seems to work most effectively for the team totals that way.
With this Interactive Map can can follow the whales.
Look at this catfish in the Old Danube!
He ( it is a male) is 2,50 m long and is taking care of the nest:The male guards the nest until the brood hatches, which, depending on water temperature, can take from three to ten days. If the water level decreases too much or too fast the male has been observed to splash the eggs with the muscular tail in order to keep them wet.(source Wiki)
We can almost breath a sigh of relief for the newest whale ambassadors.
Yesterday the whales were at the Rio Vista Bridge {Antioch and Oakley on the map} so by today they should be nearing or at the Carquinez Strait, Martinez. A very good detailed map, ul. Thanks again!
ehBeth, you are making me laugh! LOL
ul, have a wonderful holiday, also!
Dan, in a nice way - Sei pazzo! {grin}
Nice link, ul..... And, that's about the largest catfish I have ever seen.
Stradee, thanks. Long ago I had the 'Texas Dictionary' - it had a lot of funnies like the above two but I can't remember them now.
Clicked.
And, Yaaay, the whales are still heading out.
ehBeth, sounds like the term - 'Gone to the Dogs' is a good and fun thing in you home...... Very Happy
We love our dog life too..... We are out in the country and my mom's passing last month was preceded by the passing of the lady - 94yrs - who lived across the street from our home. So.. I refer to Chloe - our outside dog - as our outside burgler alarm and/or visitor announcer. Our, inside puppy is our inside burgler alarm and/or visitor announcer. Very Happy
Stradee, thanks for the whale picture. I'm hoping everything goes well with their trip back to the sea.
Whales still heading out to home sea.
Ul-
Don't know who is coming - but anyone is welcome. The pup looks like he or she would recognize kittie territority, and act accordingly and nicely.
House is started to be packed up, but it is not a sure thing yet. See link below. Perfect for pups.
On a bus line, but almost out of the city.
