A day for all senses.
Lilac is abloom in white and different shades of purple, tulips glowing, lily of the valley shimmering between dark green leaves, lots of yellow too.
The smell is wonderful- for me the smell of lilac is the smell of Vienna.
Birds are singing, kids are laughing- and now that all windows are open you can hear the concert pianist next door. Bach and Mendelsohn today.

A happy and sunny weekend to all.

Good Sunday morning, y'all! Looks like another splendiferous day ahead, the second one in a row. Amazing. The magnolias on my street are all (mostly) open, creating a phalanx of pink and white as one looks down the street. Lovely.

Happy Earth Day, everyone. Great photos. Love white lilac. Had to drag the hose around this morning, and all is quiet here. I have two very large rabbits who dine in my wildflower garden every evening. Won't eat the turnip or kale plants that are in bloom Crying or Very sad

Therefore, tomato plants had to be put in pots on the deck.

I guess the foxes missed a couple of those rabbits!

Setanta and I took the dogs down to the Don Valley Brickworks for our Earth Day adventure. Appropriate as it's one of the bigger reclamation projects in the region.

Lots of folks on bicycles, lotsa lotsa kids, some fishing rods, a few people doing their Earth Day garbage pick-up project, lotsa smiling dogs.

I'm going to try to get some photos online tonight. Need help identifying one of the birds - I need to go back and get closer - I didn't really realize that I was getting a photo of something I didn't recognize at the time.

Happy Earth Day sue, ul, Merry, ehBeth, and Dan-in-the-Tropics! Very Happy

The Lilacs bloomed 10 days ago, but since the rainstorm yesterday...well, the flowers are a bit droopy...

Found this photo on the net with the same type flowers w/ coloring

FGS! Bella caught a bird that flew inside the house and hid behind the pellet stove in the livingroom! Poor birds wrapped in a dish towel set outside on the stove vent for safety {and hopefully will survive the shock} I'm so mad at Mz Bella!

ehBeth, what a lovely way to celebrate Earth Day! Very Happy

Well, first the quail peeked his head out from the safety of the towel, and now is sitting on the towel on the vent surveying his surroundings! He appears bright and healthy! Thank God!

EhBeth, must be our day for birds. Smile

Took a photo of his face sitting on the vent, hopefully the copy/scan will be working soon and i'll post the pic.

Am looking forward to seeing your photos, ehBeth!

Lovely photos, ul!

hard to believe that the closest I've ever been to a beaver lodge is in the middle of a city the size of Toronto

that duck certainly is well-camouflaged

I think that's why I didn't even spot the other one til I started editing the photos on the computer

(love my new camera and the free, did I say free?, software)

Embarrassed That's a pretty risqué turtle picture, ehBeth. And watch those beaver shots, too. Laughing The A2K censors will getcha.
