Very hot weather for California also, ehBeth. Concerned
Dan, 171 votes from the House yesterday for withdrawing troops beginning in three months - and completed in six months - less than 50 shy for passing the resolution. Nearly three out of four dems voted to end the war within that time frame. With the elections so close, and citizens speaking loud and clear, i suspect a candidate related to gw won't have much of a chance of winning their own state, let alone a national election. Oh, and next month, Bush Sr. is the headliner for the Washington Times 25th anniversary. Seems the chief moonie hissself donated a mil to the gwb presidential library fund.
Hillary's got my vote and support as well.
From CA - Barbara Boxer will run again for the Senate. Hurray!
I believe she, Nancy Pelosi and Dianne Feinstein have done a wonderful job for CA and the U.S. Senate. Dianne Feinstein authored the first Horseslaughter bill - and they all support most if not all important animal protection legislation. In March of 2007, a Federal Circuit Court esssentially made horse slaughter illegal by prohibiting the USDA from inspecting horsemeat for human consumption. Somehow, when the horselaughter bill passed the Texas legislature, a provision for banning inspections was not included. So the Senate, following the Federal Circuit Courts ruling passed a similar bill, preventing funds from being used by the USDA for the inspection of horse meat. no more horseslauter plants. S.311, The Horse Slaughter Bill now goes to the full Senate for a vote. Big smile for all our horses!
