Glad to hear it. Thanks for letting the beloved Land-O-Cheeseheads off the hook.

Still curious which county you so freely demonstrate idiocy in.

ok guys let me try and redeem myself here. first of all, in response tothe funny guy who pointed out 'befroe', ever heard of a typo? second, i wanted to clear somthing up with you guys. although this discussion board is not about my personal thoughts toward other races, i wanted to try to redeem myself by explaining my comment about being 'racist'. im not some idiot kkk member or anything and i do not hate blacks or think theyre inferior or anything else. what i meant was, what with all these gang bangers and blacks slaughtering everybody of all races in milwaukee about 50 miles from where i live, from what all ive seen they havent given me much reason to like their race. im not saying their all bad or that i hate them, but hey, what do you expect me to think? also, if theyd interact with the type of people like me in other ways other than just telling us to '**** off their gonna pop a cap in our ass', maybe i wouldnt look upon them with such distaste. when they get their act together and lose all these gang bangers and bad seeds in their race and i start seeing something positive of them, maybe i wont feel the way i do anymore. but even then, ill still fly a confederate flag from the back of my pickup because its not a racist symbol, its just a symbol of being a redneck and a country boy like me. sorry for the confusion. now if youll excuse me the snows meltin and theres a nice lookin mud hole out on the back 40 and my trucks callin my name to take it out wheelin.

idiocy?
is idiocy even a word? besides, i demonstrate what i want where i want freely cause this is america and i can. besides, what might choose to call 'idiocy', i may choose call sensible and right. to each his own, that is whats so great about being here aint it?

PS
a little aside to yall, if you google the confederate flag somewhere in the first three or four pages youll find a site where in shows two blacks displaying confeds and tells about how there are actually black confederate support groups and even were all black infantry division in the sonfederate army. so hows that for ya.

Laughing Yes.

Yes again. And you are also correct that it is infinitely more forgivable to be an ignorant hick, than an overt A-hole (like a Klansman). Read this thread from start to finish; and you'll learn your happy flag was created in defense of slavery. I don't like the criminal element in Milwaukee any better than you; but I don't see their crimes as any justification to ignore the forced servitude and straight murder of millions of innocent people, nor any good reason to pretend their symbol of defiance AGAINST the United States, decency, and Humankind at large is cool... just because you like the sound of being a rebel. Don't be afraid to learn the truth... and then show the courage and intelligence to be ashamed of it.

Im going to get shot for this..

But I agree with you ( on the surface.. because I do not know you personally..)
I live in an area where, when someone sees a black person, they more then likely are selling drugs, fighting, or so drunk they can not stand up.
If you find a person from mexico in my neighborhood, I can guarantee you they are not here legally and they too are selling drugs and have several children all on welfare. They spend their welfare checks on putting stereos in their cars and beer on their porch.
( I speak enough spanish to know this is true for the few families I live next to. Not all.. but the ones I live next to.)

It isnt necessarily racism to hate a culture.
A culture is what you are seeing.
Not all black people think that trying to look like a gangbanger is the way to dress. Or that carrying a gun is necessary.

Not all spanish people are here illegally, nor are their children all on welfare.
So.. dont think it is 'racism' because it isnt the entire race... it is that culture. Plain and simple.

And yes, most of us know what that flag was for, why it was created and the many reasons people fly it today no matter how inaccurate they may be. That is why this thread started. Smile

The sad part is that the TRUTH behind the flag is hidden by the IGNORANCE of the people like the KKK that use it .
Ignorant people are louder and unfortunately gain more attention .
Since there are a handfull of ignorant people who keep popping up in the news waving that flag because they think it means ' I hate blacks' most people just throw that flag in with that mindset since the two are shown together more often then not and leave it that way.

thanks, gentleman
im glad to hear you are listening to my points and able to reason with me. this is a subject that i feel very strongly about, and i more often than not find myself in arguements and discussions over it. most people are to headstrong to ever hear me out, and im not saying i think yall agree with me, but its noce to be talking to someone who has the capacity to at lest hear me out. i agree with you on the subject of the flag being tainted by klu-klux-assholes using it for innaccurate purposes, and while were talking about hatrid toward a culture and such, i would like to say that regardless of whatever feelings i may have toward any other race or culture, i truly hate those idiots who do that. what they do is wrong, every bit as wrong as the bloodbath in milwaukee or new york or wherever you look in major metropolitan areas. its murder just the same and it aint right.

This flag dose not promote racism... the people in the civic war that stood under this flag, fought for what they believed in..did you people know that over 150,00 blacks fought under this flag??? this flag is part of our history like it or not! most of the folk in the confederate army fought because they didn't like being told what was gonna to be done by the government... people today in this day and age fight for the same reasons are they racist? i have lots of black friends but i still fly put it up every day next to my american flag dose that mean im a racist?

You can fly it all you like, it's you you are advertising as someone who hasn't a clue either to it's historical meaning or the present one. Those people who you claim were fighting because they didn't want to be told "what was gonna be done by the government" didn't want to be told that human being could no longer be bought and sold. What they were fighting for, as opposed to against, was for this nation to be one of slaves and slaveholders. You can parse it any way you want, them's the facts.
Quote:

"A house divided against itself cannot stand."

I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free.

I do not expect the Union to be dissolved -- I do not expect the house to fall -- but I do expect it will cease to be divided.

It will become all one thing or all the other.

Either the opponents of slavery, will arrest the further spread of it, and place it where the public mind shall rest in the belief that it is in the course of ultimate extinction; or its advocates will push it forward, till it shall become alike lawful in all the States, old as well as new -- North as well as South." A. Lincoln

What the South would have created would have been the United Slave States.

The present day flyers of the flag in question still thirst for the idea that certain people can hold others to their will. It's an unAmerican idea and one that I hope someday will completely fade from the human mind. Others hold the pretense that they are merely showing their rebellious side. They are. "Look at me. I fly a flag. I'm a rebel." Most mature people grow out of such pathetic notions early in life.

Joe(especially if they ever actually had to rebel against something or actually fight for something worthy to believe in)Nation

More than 150,000 blacks fought for the United States of America--i'd like to see someone produce reliable evidence that such a number of blacks fought for the Confederate States (as in wore the uniform, carried arms, etc.). I guess the line is, when in doubt, or when backed into a corner, make sh*t up.

I have no good reason to believe that a number of blacks even approaching a few thousand actually carried arms to fight for the Confederacy, never mind 150,000. That's horsesh*t, plain and simple.

I agree... I really do

reading some of these articles , it sounds like people are counting the black folks that were essentially on the sidelines pulling deadbodies, sewing uniforms and other wise doing busy work and not fighting..

if that is where the numbers came from mostly....i can see 50,000 maybe.. Sure.

a HUNDRED and fifty thousand?

nah.. I dont buy that either
