@edgarblythe,
Sorry, I was thinking only about myself. I hope to live another 50 years, and I'm now 76 yo. Mr. Green

738a. Woke up to no internet this morning. I reset the 2wire thingy and it asked me to reregister. Something about Java seemed amiss. After numerous tries, without getting logged in and reinstated, the system locked me out. It took about an hour after that to get the representative to completely help me back on line.
739a. I just took Punky the dog for a ride. We went down the road toward Tomball, then veered around and pulled into the park. After a slow tour, I finished the circle and brought her home. I have regretted not doing this for my last two dogs. I don't want to regret anything if Punky passes.
740a. Experimenting, I put two text boxes in a works document. It took numerous tries and a couple of days before I figured out how to remove them.
741a. Got to check over the truck - be sure it is fit to make the run to Austin, in the morning.

742a. Returned home yesterday, to have a nose that ran so copiously, I had to blow every couple of minutes. Don't know if it was caused by spending time in another's home and picking up new germs, or it it could be due to driving in wet conditions and going from a humid atmosphere to a dry one and back again in so short a time. Perhaps both or something else. I put some colloidal silver through my nose and just one application made it clear up almost instantly. I took a follow up dose this morning, to be sure I got the bad germs out entirely. For those who don't know, the silver wraps around bacteria and viruses and deprives them of oxygen. Beneficial germs are not that reliant on oxygen and they survive. In the days before there were refrigerators and when money had silver in it, silver dollars were dropped into milk, because this kept the milk fresh tasting a bit longer.
743a. Made a mistake with Punky the dog yester-evening. I gave her a biscuit, knowing she would not like going out into the cold and mist to bury it. This morning, I found where she made a hole in the couch slip cover and buried the biscuit, beneath it, and on top of the cushion. Can't blame a dog for being a dog.
744a. My youngest daughter has been informed she is about to get a huge promotion. Good for her, says I, proud as can be.

745a. Everything was out of sync at work today. I hope we get our act together in the morning.
746a. Haven't accomplished one thing that's creative in over a week. I have tried, but it has been impossible. Once the holiday season has ended, perhaps the muse will pay a visit.
747a. We considered filing our income tax separately this year, but a person that does taxes for a living told us we would likely not improve our situation doing it. I still intend to fill out the paperwork both ways before sending it in.
748a. Punky the dog is in the yard, soaking in the sun. Nice out, today.

@edgarblythe,
747a: Always a good idea to check it out both ways some years, but most often, if you don't have enough to write off from Itemized Deductions vs Standard Deduction, it's not worth the effort.

For the first time in many years, I'm doing my income taxes manually, because the computerized "free" tax returns aren't free; you still have to pay for the state tax return, and that's the easy part. Besides that, in CA, we can fill out the form on the web.

749a. I possibly should have shaved this morning. But, not.
750a. I read an article decrying the left leaning voter's possible propensity to blind themselves to Ron Paul's bizzare domestic agenda, based on his expressed intent to end our wars. This guy would bring true disaster to our nation, in my view.
751a. I bought some almond milk to experiment with replacing cow's milk in my diet. Tried it yesterday. Not real impressed with the flavor. We shall see.

@edgarblythe,
I did the same with trying soy milk. I won't drink it straight, but in my cereal (not flavored) was tolerable. Almond milk in my cereal...not so much.

BTW, where exactly are the nipples on an almond?

Re Ron Paul candidacy: IMHO, he's too fringy to get elected.

@Ragman,
Yea, his die-hard supporters are giving him a boost in Iowa, but he's a non-issue on the national scene.

752a. The almond milk does not give me the satisfying experience of drinking the real thing. I plan to buy milk and blend it with the remaining stuff, to avoid tossing it.
753a. My daughter has given my wife a fantastic gift. Hearing aids worth over $4,000. Mrs edgarblythe has become deaf as a post in one ear and hard of hearing in the other. Now I won't be repeating myself endlessly.
754a. Today will be my final work day of the year. It will be a strenuous one, but I am ready for it. It makes me feel good to use my body to its utmost. When I get home I can relax and have a snooze and still have a nice evening.
755a. I wonder where snood has gone. Haven't seen any posts by him lately. He and I don't agree on everything, but I consider him a friend, nonetheless.
756a. Also missing gelisgesti.

757a. Change of plans. I will work today.
758a. Where is Ike when the Republicans need him? Oh, yeah. Never mind.
759a. My recent trip to Austin had one glitch that keeps me a tad disturbed. Thought I would exorcise it here. On the drive back, I tried to maintain a speed of about 77MPH. On one long stretch, my lane was clear for at least a mile or so ahead. On my right spread a line of fairly well separated cars, except two. Of those two, one followed fairly close, but at a respectful distance. But, as I overtook the follower, he became agitated to find me steadily gaining and about to pass. He accelerated and surged ahead. But then he slacked off to maintain his position behind the other car. He did this twice. Finally, he ran out of room for such antics, as I closed on that other car. As soon as I passed them both, the guy jumped in behind me and for several miles appeared to be looking to find some way around me. There were enough cars in the other lane to make that impossible. Finally, traffic had to slow to pass through a small town. I took the slower lane of traffic through there and that let the man get sufficiently ahead that I never saw him again. I just can't understand what got him so fired up and all I did was drive, not even in the same lane.

@cicerone imposter,
I think rage is an emotion that can't be helped otherwise it isn't rage. It is temporary insanity and thus can't be stupid.

@spendius,
Temporary insanity is stupid, because it can be controlled by most rational people. Know your limits; if you don't, you're a danger to your community/society.

@spendius,
People just do not use common sense which can be "learned." However, I doubt you are in that group.

Cellphone use while driving is illegal, yet many people still do it. That's stupidity, because they know the law but ignore it.

Swerving at high speed between heavy traffic is also stupid; they create unsafe situations for everybody; that's stupidity.

760a. I don't usually recall any dreaming, when I wake up. Occasionally I will have a dream that seems real, such as having a visit from my dead brother, and I wake up in the middle of it, or if I am threatened, at the point where it is, likely, curtains. Last night my dreams were very complicated and I wish I could relate them exactly as experienced.

Early on, I was in some sort of institutionalized environment. Of two main characters accompanying me, one was friendly, but the other one informed me he would ultimately kill me. His face was creepy and he smiled each time he spoke. Then we wrestled, with neither having a clear advantage, and he tumbled through an opening. I and a few persons were gathered around, looking down into a space in which my former adversary played some sort of game, to the applause of the watchers. I felt better about the man. And my wife and I were then in a car, looking for somebody. They were not home. We drove an unfamiliar road until we came to an oddly constructed house. A woman from an upper level let us in. Her performance compelled my wife to inform me that she would be staying with this woman after I left. Two men had come in, by this time. In the conversation that followed, I convinced my wife to go back with me. She went downstairs. I began to gather our belongings, which all at once were substantial, and I eventually made it down the stairs. I was alone. The street was unfamiliar and I was lost. I went into a building and rode the elevator (perhaps stairs?) to a level that provided no answers. Determining that I must go back up, I was instantly in some sort of open train, sort of like an open ore carrier, rocketing through a rocky Indiana Jones sort of place. I thought to myself, "This is too real to be a dream from which I could awaken. This is really happening." The sensations were as real as life to me. At the end of the ride, I was in a great hall. I was given to take my place at a banquet table. The others in the hall had an appearance of esoterism, reminding me of characters in the books about Tibet I used to read. I picked up my drink, which initially was coffee, but later transformed to an unknown liquid. As I sipped it, I noted one young person chanting unintelligibly over his food, and I stopped sipping, thinking I might be considered disrespectful. Then I moved around the table to reach for a drink some woman was handing me. I drank a bit from the round hole at one end, before realizing it was the wrong end. I drank and then reached for my bowl, thinking the others might figure I did not appreciate it, after I had earlier walked away from it. I don't know if anything else happened. I suppose I woke up shortly after that scene.
