I have taken to scrambling my eggs on Sunday, so that I have a vehicle for a daily dose of turmeric. It does not affect the taste much. In fact, I have gotten rather fond of the spice. One of the few I use, of late. I cook turmeric the same way the recipe for golden milk calls for, but don't use it the same way, beyond that.

There is no u in sheep. Or is there?

Michelle Obama just turned fifty. Never thought I would reach a point where fifty seems so young.

Greatest heroes since time began

Yeah so long as they don't overdo it. My late dad was a workaholic--literally-- and he said to my mam "That factory's my life".
In the end he went half-nutty because he didn't want (or didn't know how to) switch off, and he completely lost his grip on reality and what's important in life.
(For example as a kid he once kicked me like a dog for the heinous crime of dropping orange peel down the toilet which wouldn't flush away)
Maybe that's why the sabbath rest day is so big in judaism and christianity, God wants us to have one little "oasis of peace" per week so we can relax and recharge our batteries

@Romeo Fabulini,
People who read my lyric relate it only to their own experience. I actually intend it to blanket ancient humans to the present and all nations and ethnicities.

I celebrate Martin on his birthday, but any day is a good day to come out for human rights. I once worked with a man who became very upset on this holiday. One day he was in the shop bemoaning the fact it was MLK Day. "Who cares (about the man)?" He wore a face full of agony mixed with anger. "I do," I replied. He said, "Oh," suddenly subdued. He quickly left out of there. I know what I said and did around the man only made him become covert in my presence. Nothing seemed to change his heart. He would be the friendliest guy you ever met, when black delivery drivers and mail carriers came around, but he also paid special attention to our black residents, looking for transgressions, made by them, to see if he could get them evicted. He was successful at that about three times.

That is not easy to do in the UK ed.

Which suggests that we do human rights rather than talk about them.

@spendius,
I have never been to your country. I refuse to speculate, for lack of evidence.

If somebody's a bad tenant, black or white, they deserve to be evicted.
Here in Britain blacks can get away with anything because they'll play the race card and yell "racist"so nobody dare tackle them.
More and more white Brits are getting sick of them, hence the rise of our pro-white far right parties like the BNP and UKIP.
As I've said in A2K before, I kept reporting black drug dealing at a nearby house to the Leicester (England) police 12 years ago but they took no action.
Then the dealers complained I was "harassing" them by watching them through my binoculars so the gutless coppers swung smoothly into action and I was arrested and got 3 months in jail on a "vigilante" charge. You couldn't make it up.
Needless to say, I've been plastering the whole story all over the net ever since to show up the coppers, and shall include it in my autobiography.
If Hollywood ever pick it up and film it, I wonder which actor will play me, Vin Diesel, Stallone, van Damme, Pacino?...

@edgarblythe,
I use turmeric in scrambled eggs too, have for quite a while now. JLNobody first clued me in to look it up. I use dabs of it in my flatbreads or oil crackers or ricotta tortes... enough ways so the jar is always on the counter.

Other mornings, I put it in my Cheerios. Never let a day go by without eating some.

They wouldn't dare make a film of my autobiography mate. In fact I wouldn't dare write it either.

Since MLK was with us, lynching of black men has become extremely rare. Now, if gun nuts would just quit shooting them.

Rocky is so persistent that I started bluffing him with a switch, the other day. I was swishing it up and down in front of him. He slowly eased forward, until the switch was striking his forehead, and then he paused while I continued the swishing. He mimics my grin, and that's just what he did that time. The switch has been dropped into the morning trash.

That reminds me, it's coming up to 2 years (Feb 26 2012) since George Zimmerman bravely exercised his right of self-defence by gunning down the attacker, so let's hope the anniversary is celebrated in some way, maybe by making Feb 26th 'Zimmerman Day' across America..Smile

Be fair mate; if ML King can have a day, why can't there be a George Zimmerman Day?
Or a Lindy England Day?
Or a Lieutenant Calley Day?

And hey, you were a Navy man, so why not an Edgar Blythe Day?
Here's the USS New Jersey shelling the Cong in 1968, I bet Zimmerman envies the awesome firepower you had..Smile
