@edgarblythe,
Phooey on this and on the owner.

I'm hoping you'll be able to find something else.

@Roberta,
I will look around. Don't want full time, or it would be easier in what I do.

Going to be out looking at cars, maybe get some bumper brackets for the truck, too.

@cicerone imposter,
I just had to make a kid remove his new seats (he had glued them in with construction adhesive) clean them back up, and bolt them in.

he was not happy, but he's alive for a while longer...

@cicerone imposter,
Super glue only works to fasten the tips of your fingers together.

@edgarblythe,
I had used Super Glue to keep a relationship together. Those were desperate times...but we grew together. Truly a bonding experience.

I once had a pick up so old and rusty, the support holding the front tire upright fell over, tire and all. I took some good old Texas baling wire and put it back up there and drove like that for two months.

@edgarblythe,
Back in-1970, I had my 1963 Chevy convertible's alternator secured with vice grips because the bolt had snapped off the support arm. I clamped it back on with vice grips. In fact, it eventually went to the junk yard in that condition. The vice grips stayed in place.

@Ragman,
Them vice grips were likely the only salvageable part on it.

Well, I visited about ten salvage yards before I got them, but I got me some Ranger b-b-b-b-b-bumper brackets. Only 43 bucks for the pair. Sad Hoo da man?

Good morning. With 80% rain today and more tomorrow, we got to quit procrastinating and go see more cars today and maybe tomorrow. There is a Toyota we want to look at first.

With mrs edgarblythe off to her sister's, house yester-evening, I made myself a dinner of a bowl of moringa leaves, mixed with sardines, sweet onion, wine vinegar and tomato chunks. No salt, pepper, and the like.

I plan to work out back some today as a part of organizing both yard and workshop. Both have been neglected while I was laboring in the hot sun. Now, the temperatures are moderating, somewhat, and I have to make new plans how to use everything.

@edgarblythe,
Toyotas and Hondas are reliable cars, and worth considering in your search.

Here's what I found about car mileage.
Quote:
Frankly, 180,000 miles is high for any car but an Accord could easily keep running until the wheels fall off. With a car of that (or any) age I would run a CarFax report and make sure things have been maintained. Maintenance is key to extending the life-span of any car. Have a mechanic take a look at the car to check for rust, frame damage, condition of the belts, engine components, and anything else that could be worn out at this age.

Hondas, Toyotas, Saabs, and Volvos are easily capable of 300,000 miles.

Our Corolla had about 180,000 miles and was driving like a new one. Of course, the body was not so tight as a new one, but it didn't rattle.
