@spendius,
Do they (the philanthropists) post on any of the threads?
@Roberta,
Youse people are making me feel good, on top of a very relaxed weekend beginning. I love ya alls.
@edgarblythe,
edgar, You bring a necessary foundation to an otherwise crazy world. That's the reason we all love you, and love to visit your thread every day.
@edgarblythe,

Of course. That's why I recommend the book to you.
It's gonna be 80 degrees this afternoon. Perfect weather for bathing Punky the dog. I don't have a good set up inside the house for this. So I put a faucet and line on a garbage can that I fill up with warm water. We do this out on the concrete walk in the sunshine. I have never gotten her to accept a hair dryer, so I rub her down with a series of very large towels.
It may be a busy day around here. I am still getting my wits together before making plans.
@edgarblythe,
We've been experiencing warmer weather here in Silicon Valley too! It's been in the seventies for the past couple of days, even though the mornings are still on the cool side.
@cicerone imposter,
I think C.I.'s son is a silicon chip off the old block.
I met CI's son. He is a son to be proud of.
Whenever he got his Irish up
Clancy lowered the boom
Beautiful weather and I have material to work with. My day is spoken for.
I have no green clothing. So it's a wearin' of the gray I'll be doing today.
@edgarblythe,
I planted some flowers today.
@cicerone imposter,
I won't be planting many flowers. My water bill is $70 and then I have an additional high sewer bill. During the encroaching drought they will limit water use until I have to let them die anyway.
@edgarblythe,
It was always my intention to be a son who was difficult to be proud of.
@spendius,
Have you had any success?
@edgarblythe,
What is with all the warnings about impaiens, Edgar? Nancy and I grow 'em every year...and this year we've read warnings about disease...and actually have seen advise suggesting we not grow them even if we can find some in the stores.
You hear anything about this?
@Frank Apisa,
It's news to me. People grow them at the apartments every year. I guess we ought to do some searching.
Isn't this Holy Week? For the unholy it means a short work week. I ran over forty feet of soffit and facia boards on my house yesterday. Bit by bit I am approaching that time when I bring home the spray paint rig and make the house look pretty. My neighbor is spending a month in Japan. I will be able to finish it off without her scrutiny.
Many people no longer watch TV, but I remain an addict. Last night I watched reruns of Barney Miller. The ones in which (a) The black officer was shot at several times by two other officers who assumed he was the criminal when they came on him making an arrest. (b) A Vietnam War protester gets caught after hiding eight years. The first show had some funny lines that had me laughing, while at the same time, a tear or two tried to leak out. The second show had characters for each view on the war.
The main one of my moringa trees waited for the warm weather to shed a bunch of leaves. Yesterday it was 80 degrees and that is when I noted that many are turning yellow and dropping off. I can assume they are making way for new ones.
I grew up on a diet of beans, potatoes, oatmeal, the occasional chicken, cornbread and biscuits. Could not abide any innovative dishes and added ingredients, such as squash or spinach, if any suddenly came to the table. Had an aversion to Mom's chow-chow. When I was around twelve my stepfather began bringing home liver, which would get cooked in an iron skillet with onions. He would preside over us to see that we ate it. We would manage to get it down, but none of us ever forgave him for it. In adulthood I never became all that adventurous with food. I could easily revert to that original diet and be satisfied. These days I eat for my health, generally, but can be coaxed to eat restaurant food once or twice a week. Breakfast this morning began with a cup of bentonite clay - one rounded teaspoon mixed in water and allowed to sit for ten minutes - Then, an hour later, a cup of coffee, with half a teaspoon of black seed oil in it. Near an hour after that, a couple of garlic cloves with raw honey. After that, in the blender, a concoction of flax seeds, pumpkin seeds or walnuts, two rounded tablespoons of food grade diatomaceous earth, raw honey, berries (usually blue, but sometimes straw or black), blended in a glass of organic whole milk.
@edgarblythe,
You probably have the healthiest diet of anyone I know. I eat almost anything and everything, but try to stay away from red meat as a regular diet. Other than that, it's "go for broke!"
