In case you want to see more of the ice event try the live cams overlooking the ice rinks.

Might be- he and Mr. Monkey, the class room mascot, had plans to go out tonight. Vienna night life- no cameras, please.
They said they were of age.

Obviously feeling very well in Vienna, Rocky the Oachkotzerl.
(He had some difficulties to remember this Austrian word for squirrel - but really tried very hard to pronounce it correctly: we even phoned with a former Vienna school inspector [my uncle] to get it right  )

Great pics!!!

That's fabulous, ul!! I love the picture with the ice-skating girls and Rocky... really cool to have that kid-kid connection.

Those buildings... so ornate. Really lovely.

(And great closeup of Rocky, too! Now I can see the kangaroo pin. Was wondering what that gold thing was.)

I thought it might be fun for Rocky's school to learn about kids' school life here- planning an extra letter to his school with these informations.
Do you think there is enough time - so I can send him off to smorgs on Friday?

Walter,
the upperside of the pin came loose, was in the bag, I will glue it. The envelop was treated badly- now which postal service is to blame. Of course not mine!

PLENTY of time. Rocky is due back in Columbus on April 5th. You're the fourth person out of nine, so almost halfway through already with more than 2 months to go. And the US tour should go more quickly than the European tour, so take it easy and have fun with Rocky. :-)

You have much more faith in the USPS than I do, soz.

And a recent Chicagoland resident, at that.

Though maybe it all gets delivered -- and promptly, at that -- in the burbs.

Maybe it's Columbus that's done it to me -- I read somewhere that it's a major shipping hub. Maybe that's why I get stuff fastfastfast. (Like within a couple of days.) A week or so is realistic, don't you think?

I used to have to really watch it for my credit card bill payments back when I lived in what I called north north - california near the oregon border; they would, on occasion, take NINE days to get to whatever postal center address. Shocked

You are now in postal heaven, osso. Albuquerque is one of the good ones. Now, if your stuff gets routed through the center in Phoenix, you got problems.

Well, I think that the credit card company takes four or five days to actually open the payment after they receive it. I used to send payments to a payment center in Sacramento, and it would take days longer for my payments to get "received" than it took stuff to get to my sister there.

At least, that's how I justify my credit rating.

Osso, we notice the same thing about mailing stuff here. It's like it goes by wagontrain or something...We finally cancelled our netflix membership just because of this. It took a week for our DVDs to get here, when where we lived before it usually took one day!

Vienna has some modern buildings too. Here Rocky is sitting on a model of the Vienna International Center

Rocky made it through the security. He was checked and questioned- very suspect-taking pictures.
