I just got my acceptance letter from Lesley University's off-campus program for earning a master's in elementary education. I start this spring. Sometime. Dunno when. Grrrr.
The process of getting here can be found towards the end of this thread:
Littlek's thread on Directionlessness
Hey, now THERE'S something! Congratulations, teach!
I'm only going to congratulate you once tonight, so consider this sentence a mere symbol of recognition of your new thread.
Thanks, but, dangit, I was going to make the title proper.....
Awesome! Way to go. So, are you now directionful?
I bet you'll make a great teacher.
I like your George Bush style title.
Duckie - I am less directionally challenged. It's hard to stay focused as I keep getting cold feet.
Thanks edgar. I think I might have a problem with patience, sometimes. But, I'm guessing that school will give me tools to deal with that issue of mine.
Someone somewhere should be playing Van Halen's Hot For Teacher.
She'll have all the guys lined up for a smart rap on the wrist!
The young ones..... they're so malleable.
Hey, I am not as stingy as gustav, I congratulate you
again, and again, and again.
And yes, I agree with edgar: You will make a great
teacher littlek.
Lash! I'll be teaching elem school! A little too young for teacherly crushes, methinks.
Greenwitch, well, I thought it was funny at first. Whatever - we're stuck with it.
I guess we have to draw the line at the elementary boys... too bad. It'd be like taking candy from a...oh never mind.
Put some socks on those cold feet. I was a late bachelors getter and am contemplating returning for a masters when the littlest ducklet starts kindergarten, and when I get the student loans paid off from my last educational adventure. I waffled for a long time thinking it was too late and not being sure that I even still wanted that degree or if I still wanted to do the same kind of work at all. But really, nothing feels better than finally deciding on a goal, making a plan, and going for it. Kudos to you. I'm sure you'll be great. Look at how well you do with all the kids here on A2K! And if the program falls through, you'll find another one. There's always Teach for America, or whatever it's called.
Hey, elementary boys have dads and sometimes they're divorced and somtimes they're rich and sometimes they get called in to have a parent teacher conference and...the possiblities are endless.
Duckie - If this program falls through, the school offers other locations and I can always try it on-campus. But, I think on-campus will be a seperate application process......
Good on ya, littlek.
My sister just retired after 30 plus years of teaching...
(She did it all stoned...) Hah!
LionTamer - maybe being stoned is the key! Too bad weed makes me ill.
Greenwitch - I tend to dislike rich people. As a rule. Sadly.
and sometimes they are poor...
