Marty, you're our last shot. See if you can't do something about those drooping whiskers.

I can just picture DrewDad sprawled on the grass in front of the capital trying to get a close up of a stuffed squirrel.... Say, DD, did you get any comments from passerbys on that?

Soz, I am leaving for India in mid-May - around May 17. 2 weeks in India (New Delhi, Hyderabad, possibly Ahmedabad), then Amsterdam, then Bratislava and environs. Will Penny be inclined to accompany on my journey or on part of it?

Very likely, dag, very likely. I'll get the Penny thread started soon. (I'd thought of having a whole website but realized there's no point, really -- we can do pictures here just fine and the point is that it's the A2K tour...)

Thanks for the offer, I can't wait to see the pics!

Martybarker, sounds like a great plan, looking forward to what you come up with too! I'll PM you my address.

We sure like our coffee here in Washington. Drive thru coffee huts are very common here. You can find one just about anywhere and sometimes right across the street from each other!!

This Lighthouse is located just 15 min drive from my house. There is a public park/beach here as well.

The Washington State Ferry system connects main land to Whidbey Island and other locations across the Puget Sound.

Our beaches are mostly rockey rather than sandy. The beach has fire pits and picnic tables. When the weather is nice we go down there and build a small fire. My son claims it as the best rock skipping beach ever!

Yeah, I always liked it in the winter when it was raining. Partly for the relative emptiness, partly for the atmosphere.

And always for the freshly-made donuts in off in that one corner near the cashew vendor...

I asked my kids if they wanted some before I noticed the huge line. fortunately they were up for something else.

Did you live here for a while or just visit a lot?
