information on repetitive language in teaching and coaching

I am looking for information on theories or research regarding the use of repetitive language (commands, praise...) in classroom teaching (possible ESL focus) or sports coaching (Good job, Good job. Nice work, nice work. Faster, faster) . I am hoping someone will be able to steer me in the right direction as far as key words or names of people involved in this kind of research.
