@Region Philbis,
We'll be gentle. Mebbe Roberta and Green Witch could hold your hands while the lads and I get to work.

@Region Philbis,
You wimps - I am at work. I drove through the blizard to get to work.

Yesterday evening, 15 minutes after receiving the phone notification that my daughters' school is canceled; I get the contingency call from work. All New England offices will be open tomorrow. Due to the upcoming snow storm, please give extra time to come into work and it is a jeans day.

Wow - I get a jeans day!

@Region Philbis,
Come on - you live in New England and can't drive to work.....wimp!

Actually I was better off coming to work. The kids and hubby are home so it makes working at home more difficult. It is busy time and I would still have to do my work, it wouldn't go away. It is more quiet at work as many of the wimps did not brave the snow so I can get much more done. And it makes me look great in the eyes of the bosses - all of whom have not come in. I am the highest level in - so I rule.

@Linkat,

yes i am a wimp, and i'm proud to be one...

all kidding aside, it's pretty bad out there.
make sure your phone is charged before you head home today.

they're saying 2 feet of heavy wet snow for some by tonight.
the trees already look like they're branches are overburdened.
Quote:
"The storm's not even close to being over yet," said Alan Dunham, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Taunton. He said some areas in central and northern Masssachusetts could get up to 2 feet before the heaviest snow abates after 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. today.

@Region Philbis,
Fortunately I do not have too far to drive - 10 miles maybe. And mostly all highway. Seeing I will not leave until about 5 today - I figured with my car parked in a gargage and with snow ending 3ish, I should be good.

If it was really bad, I would imagine work would put us up at the hotel across the street.

@Linkat,
A good 16 - 18" here I think (I'm on Long Island, North Shore, visiting my folks for a few days). My Dad and I just spent an hour - I was on shovel/broom duty and he had the snow blower. The driveway is basically done but the car that's parked on the street, well, you can recognize that it's a car. But when the plow comes through again, it'll once again become a big white mound. Kinda looked like an old Norge fridge on its side.

I worked from home today, they made the decision in my office last night. I made the hubby stay home so he could watch the kiddos while I worked :-)

Rumor this morning was the plows were doing a good job in my area so I hope tomorrow is an easy commute!

@Crazielady420,
Well stopped snowing so I am hoping for an easy commute home.

It actually took me less time to get into work this morning than a normal day. Very few people on the roads so even with the snow I was able to drive faster than in rush hour.

The Widget Factory was open today. Dumb bastards. It took me an hour and
a half to get there. The plows had the surface down to manageable levels
with the occasional freestyle fun park mixed in to grab your attention. The big
problem was visibility. There wasn't much. But I got there safe and sound.

our birch in the front has one large trunk, and two smaller ones.
