I looked, and was surprised to not see a thread on Nemo yet. They are sure hyping this one up with breathless speculation that we might get up to three feet of snow in Boston along with killer high winds and power outages.
Last night I went to the store as part of my normal shopping cycle and was surprised to see the checkout lines snaking down the aisles to the back of the store.
Not a flurry yet, although my kids are home from school, but we will see.
@maxdancona,
This isn't the Nemo I know and love!
@tsarstepan,
Nope, I mean this one
Not nearly as cute, is it.
@maxdancona,
I know. Terribly mean spirited blowhard our present Nemo is. I have really important plans for tonight that I made several weeks ago. I'll be dismayed if they're scuttled.
@maxdancona,
The hype on this one sounds fantastic.
Since I live outside of any cities, this storm will likely be a minor (maybe lasting a day or two) inconvenience for me. But I wish the city dwellers well.
50 lbs of rock salt at the ready...
@Region Philbis,
Two questions: Is the salt Kosher? Can Orthodox communities use any rock salt that isn't Kosher?
@tsarstepan,
Quote:Is the salt Kosher?
oy
!
i'll check the label...
Quote:Can Orthodox communities use any rock salt that isn't Kosher?
i'd say so, as long as they don't eat it or cook with it...
@Region Philbis,
I am going to find Nemo after this storm AND KILL HIM (assuming the storm is a he!)
He's going to be MY white whale!
I hope you all get through it with minimum discomfort.
Governor Patrick has issued a driving ban. Anyone caught on the road without a good reason can be jailed for up to a year (where good reason includes medical and electrical workers).
I don't think that has happened for a while. At least the lights are on for now.
@maxdancona,
it's the first driving ban since '78...
