A SNOW-LESS Winter in Bahstin...

Don't have any central heating heating or hot water in my new house until Thursday. Currently in Southampton, driving back tomorrow, hopefully the much predicted 'cold snap' will come after then.

The cold isn't too bad when you're working, stripping wallpaper etc. but once you stop it's bloody freezing.

do you have a space heater?

we have one in just about every room...

I have a couple of fan, and a bar heater.

The boiler is fine, but the flue is too close to the ground.

The gas engineer turned it off before Christmas.

It's taken bloody ages to get this far.

It's only two more nights after I drive up tomorrow.

The plumber has just left.

We have hot water and central heating.

We got here Tuesday and haven't had a proper wash since then.

as of 8:00 AM... another 11-12 hours to go...

we lucked out -- i measured a 'measly' 10".
parts south got twice that, or more...

If that were mine, that tree would have been gone the first winter

provides good shade in summer...

We lucked out as well. Hard to measure the snow depth as it got blown all over the place. Didn't lose power, that was the biggest concern.

Something about this picture makes me want a pint of Guinness.
