@Region Philbis,
Weve had almost 50" in the last 3 days and this one was the worst because of the wind. We cant get ahead of it by plowing. I plowed open my lane and Mrs F began spraying th snowpile with water to keep it down. That is helping to keep our lane open B UT, outside the lane , the whole roads are closed.

The record for a winter snow accumulation in Lancaster county was the winter of 1960-61 when we had 86 inches total for the winter. This year weve had

47+28=75" and were still in early February.

I GOTTA GET OUTTA HERE!!

Boat drinks
Boys in the band ordered boat drinks.
Visitors scored on the home rink.
Everything seems to be wrong.

Lately, newspaper mentioned cheap air fare.
I gotta to fly to saint somewhere.
I'm close to bodily harm.

Twenty degrees and the hockey games on,
Nobody cares they are way too far gone.
Screamin boat drinks, something to keep em all warm.

This mornin, I shot six holes in my freezer.
I think I got cabin fever.
Somebody sound the alarm.

I'd like to go where the pace of life's slow,
Could you beam me somewhere Mr. Scott?
Any ol' place here on earth or in space.
You pick the century and I'll pick the spot.

Oh I know, (I know)
I should be leaving this climate.
I got a verse but can't rhyme it.
I gotta go where it's warm.

Boat drinks
Waitress I need two more boat drinks,
Then I'm headin south 'fore my dream shrinks.

I gotta go where it's warm (I gotta go where it's warm)
I gotta go where it's warm (I gotta go where it's warm)
I gotta go where it's warm!

I gotta go where there aint any snow,
Where there aint any blow,
'Cause my fin sinks so low,
I gotta go where it's WARM!

Another half foot or so for us tomorrow night. Ain't spring yet.

Still only about half the snow we got over the last couple of (heavy) winters, though.

@patiodog,
You are where? Ohio?
Here in Virginia, we had another fine day of snow melting. We might get rid of it all by mid-March.

@realjohnboy,
Been pretty nice here (mid-40s, fairly clear but wicked windy) for the past few days. Today and tomorrow should be similar but clouds are rolling in tomorrow. Then we're supposed to get a wintry mix (oof) Tuesday through Sunday. Just in time to interfere with any number of job search-y things. Gaaahhhhh.

@jespah,
same here, nice for the last few days, snow we got a week ago is almost gone, just in time for more snow and possible freezing rain

Southern Wisconsin. Though I see this morning that they've downgraded tonight's forecast to 3-5" from yesterday's guess of 5-7", which in turn was a step down from 6-9" -- so I won't be surprised if we just get a thin fresh coat over the frozen dog ****.

if we get through today snow-free, we will have had a grand total of 4" this month according to my records.
i have obsessively kept track of snowfall totals in brighton MA since 1998.

well, this seemed like an unusually sparse febrary, so i dusted off the archives.
lo & behold, this is more or less par for the course.

the feb average from 1998 to 2010 is 7.5".
the worst feb was 2003: 34" -- which really skews the average.
in no other month did we get more than 11".
in 2009 we had 3".
2002 & 2003: 2" each.
and my favorite was in 1998: didn't get anything...

It seems that the majority of our snow comes early - in December and January. February is usually just damn cold!

@Region Philbis,
One the one hand: lucky. But, on the other, I would have liked more snow.

@Region Philbis,
good luck, it'd been cold here but very little snow

funny a couple of weeks ago the army had to rescue hundreds of stranded motorists on the roads about an 1 1/2 hours north of us and we got flurries
