@patiodog,
Get out your shorts and dust the snow off the barbecue, eh?

80% chance of stuff tonight. Helfino what, just some sort of divine vengeance coming down from the sky.

@patiodog,
Wouldn't mind it if the roads weren't treacherous and I didn't have to drive 100 miles round-trip every day. I'll take the cold over 90+ in the Summer.

@Sglass,
Yer killin me, know that?

Boat Drinks

Boys in the band ordered boat drinks
Visitors scored on the home rink
Everything seems to be wrong

Lately, newspaper mentioned cheap air fare
I gotta to fly to saint somewhere
Im close to bodily harm

Twenty degrees and the hockey games on
Nobody cares they are way too far gone
Screamin boat drinks, something to keep em all warm

This mornin, I shot six holes in my freezer
I think I got cabin fever
Somebody sound the alarm

Id like to go where the pace of lifes slow
Could you beam me somewhere mr. scott?
Any ol place here on earth or in space
You pick the century and Ill pick the spot

Oh I know, (I know)
I should be leaving this climate
I got a verse but cant rhyme it
I gotta go where its warm

Boat drinks
Waitress I need two more boat drinks
Then Im headin south fore my dream shrinks

I gotta go where its warm (I gotta go where its warm)
I gotta go where its warm (I gotta go where its warm)
I gotta go where its warm!

I gotta go where there aint any snow
Where there aint any blow
cause my fin sinks so low
I gotta go where its warm

@Swimpy,
On my drive to work, there's a pedestrian overpass over the highway that apparently gets cleared of snow shortly before rush hour each morning. All the snow ends up in a big patch on the freeway below, which is usually otherwise pretty clear at that area. So, all these rush hour cars motoring along straight into a patch of snow at 60 mph. Brilliant.

75 degrees in LA today. I think I will never move back to Bahstin. Sglass -- I was wondering. I lived in Boston for many years. I moved out here 4 years ago. Do we know each other?

Celsius equivalents (why bother? They're all goddam COLD!)
-17 C
-14 C
-20 C
-14 C
-10C on Saturday

P-dog - at present the outside temp is about 99 F! Penrith in western Sydney hit 103.5 F at 3pm and Hay topped the state with 109.6 F (that's 43 C).

When you are shovelling that snow off the driveway think of us poor Aussies suffering here <snicker> - I myself am looking at at least 38 C (100 F) tomorrow - how cruel, I can hardly consider how I will make it from work to the pub...... <snicker>

@NickFun,
I lived on Mission Hill across from the Mass College of Art and worked for what is Verizon for 20 years and had a couple of Fenway Garden plots. Bought my scratch tickets on Tremont Street, Mission Hill.

Would I move back to Boston, naw.

@Sglass,
I worked for the now Verizon, then New England Telephone, for nearly eight
fun-filled years from 1972 to 1980 as a Service Rep and then Programmer.

Much as I bitch, this is home.

@George,
I knew you were telephone, I knew it. It leaves an indelible mark.

I worked in the Back Bay frame making installers lives miserable.

@Sglass,
I lived close to there Sglass. I was on Netherlands Rd in Brookline. I thought since we are both SGI and we both lived in Boston we may have met up at some point.

I'd never move back there either.

@NickFun,
Forecast to be about 16 below (that's Fahrenheit, damn it) when I get up tomorrow morning. Wind chill 35 to 45 below.

Personally, I think that's kinda cold. I mean, the lowest temp I know I've been out in is -12.

@Swimpy,
Yeah. Kinda.

We finally got a real snowstorm -- it's been falling all day and we're up to six inches or so. (Forecast this morning -- 1-3 inches total accumulation.) Still falling. Gorgeous. (I shoveled my whole driveway when I wasn't sure whether it was going to keep going or not and figured I'd grab the opportunity -- it kept going and now you can't tell I did anything. Ah well.)

@sozobe,
No snow tomorrow here, thank God, since I've got to drive out to the sticks in a van full of controlled substances and oxygen tanks and surgerize at some shelter tomorrow...
