@littlek,
Just checked the weather -- we have continuing snow AND we're getting those supercold temps. Windchill advisory starting at midnight, ten-below windchills tomorrow, 20-below windchills Thursday. (Real temps of positive single digits though.)

Main thought is that if we have a snowday tomorrow that takes all the fun out of it. (It was 20's today and no wind, sozlet spent several hours outside. Minus ten though, I don't think I'd send her out in that.)

@sozobe,
And according to the latest Bahstin weatha foecast, you nasty people in the Midwest are sending all that crap our way. Light snow tonight, continuing into heavier snow tomorrow and temps down around +1 or +2 degrees. Gonna be like that next few days. I don't even wanna think about the wind-chill.

Another month or so and Hawaii here I come! I'm sick and tired of living in a four-season state. Yeah, four seasons -- early winter, mid-winter, late winter and next winter. I've had it. In the future, if I wanna see snow I'll just drive to the top of Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii. There's snow there virtually all year 'round.

Right now at Parramatta it's a 101F (38.5c). Set to top out at 106F (41C) if the thunderstorm doesn't turn up (we call 'em a Southerly Buster). Did not sleep last night - it was just hot and sticky till the morning. How's that back of yours P-dog? Didn't hurt it shovelling snow or anyfing?

@Mr Stillwater,
You have my sympathy, Mr. Stilly. Even though it will reach -20F here tonight (before the windchill), I'm in a warm house. The heat you've got would do me in.

@Mr Stillwater,
Actually the back's a little dodgy today, stilly. Lower left lumbar, the danger area -- but I know the warning signs and how to manage it now.

Those 102 F summer temps are what I grew up with. I love that kind of weather, sit out on the patio at midnight in boxers with a frosty beer and some smoke -- that's good stuff. Terrible for hangovers, though.

@Swimpy,
I kinda like this frozen nostril kinda weather. Nice and crisp out there tonight as I walked to the car after dance class. I was hoppin' and boppin' down the road.

@Sglass,
Ever talk to any of the reps at 6 St. James?
The Lovely Bride and her sister worked there.
(I was at Tech Sq BSC in Cambridge and later at Computer Svcs downtown.)

On top of everything else, the furnace in this building decided to go on the blink tonight. I rousted the building manager out of bed to give him the bad news. So they're "working on it" now. I'm still freezing. Will prob'ly have to go to sleep with several sweaters on.

@George,
I started out at St. James back in the paper records day. Ask them if they remember the Ice Princess.

@Region Philbis,
At about midnight they finally got the sucker going. If I hadn't complained, the management wouldn't have known about it. It seems I was the only one in the whole building to tip them off. Which makes me wonder about the other people in this building.

@ehBeth,
I wouldn't go so far as to say I love this bone chilling cold, but if I had to choose one or the other. I'd choose cold over hot.

@Region Philbis,
I had to carry the driveway snow (which was heavy stuff) over to the side by the hibiscus.

I had to take a train ride to Philly for a brief meeting this AM and It ws all snowy and neat looking along the MAin Line, just enough to be picturesque and not enough for danger (I think)
