Eight inches!
The National Weather service is being a bit cagey about possible accumulations here, but there will be at least 1 to 3 inches.
Three inches is a very inconvenient amount of snow. Three inches is a challenge for snow tires on a steep incline. It can be moved, but the plow driver has to have a very gentle touch.

8" is a far cry from the 107.6" we got in the winter of 1995-96 (our first winter in the house, no less).
shovelling the shite was a full-time job that winter...

WOW!
Meanwhile, remember how I was all "it's 75!" and "it's summer!" a couple of days ago?
It's $%*# snowing.
ARGH!

Not only are we not amused, we are dreading the thought of driving 120
miles in it.

George--
Is your daily commute 120 miles or is this a special occasion commute?

Special occasion.
We're going skiing.
I hope to postpone sliding over snow until we're actually on the mountain.

We're finally getting a proper snowstorm. Of course, proper will go down the toilet when the sleet starts...... grrr.

Here I am, still in Stoneham. The Lovely Bride freaked out over the
weather reports last night and pulled the plug on our ski trip. That's
right, our ski trip was called off due to snow. Sigh.

We may have as much as eighteen inches of snow. We had about nine inches when the sun set.
This is inconvenient, but not record-breaking. Record-breaking buries the bird bath except for a mysterious dome-in-the-middle-of-nowhere.
George--
I'm glad the Lovely Bride became imperious. I don't know about MA, but PA interstates are littered with flipped-over tractor trailers.

It's not bad. Warmed up a little so the snow is easily shoveled/moved. Was heavy snow, too. Roads are clear.

I shoveled yesterday evening (about 4-5 inches into the storm), someone else can shovel today. Actually, it'll likely be me who does it.
