@jcboy,
That was my favorite movie of 2010. Jennifer Lawrence should have won that year's Oscar.

@tsarstepan,
It was a very good movie Tsar, also very depressing, its shocking that some people in this country actually do live like that. Crying or Very sad

@jcboy,
It's not an easy movie to watch because of the abject poverty that effects all of the characters.

Frankenweenie is the last DVD I have watched with my friends. It is a nice story about a science experiment which is conducted to bring a dog back to life.

I just watched a movie that's connected to both of the previous posts, Love and Debate (2006). It's about the granddaughter of a holocaust survivor whose high school debate coach is none other than the guy who played the starring role of "Mikey" in Goonies.

@Kolyo,
Nice! I think his name is Sean Astin...Same guy who was in "Ruddy" And he was the wife's new husband in "Click" When Adam Sandler was having his premonition....When Adam had all those problems...before realizing he could change things...That was him...

@dlowan,
After reading in the local newspaper that Sloppy Joe's bar will reopen in Havana, I bought the movie "Our Man In Havana," and watched it last night before hitting snooze land. Pretty neat! Looking forward to having a drink there on my next visit.

Cloud Atlas.

It is thought provoking, well acted, amazing. Do not believe the reviews: it may be too intellectual for a mass audience.

The editing was amazing. Halle Berry put her hand on doorknob as one character, then stepped through it as another character. A character would say a word and the scene would dissolve and open on another character either saying that word or performing the action described.

Tom Hanks, Susan Sarandon, Jim Broadbent and more

@plainoldme,
Saw Susan Sarandon in Havana last June. She walked into La Guarida restaurant - into our dining room, and my travel buddy started talking to her. He recognized her right away, but it took me a few minutes to remember her.

Flame and Citron -
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0920458/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_1

Before seeing this,I knew nothing about Denmark's resistance fighters during WWll.This movie follows the true story of 2 of these freedom fighters,code names Flame and Citron.It's a Danish/German language soundtrack,so it's down to sub-titles for most of us.I really enjoyed this movie and Hey!,I even learned a bit more history.

@Barry The Mod,
Watched "The Frisco Kid" with Gene Wilder and Harrison Ford; a comedy with some serious ethical stuff in between - two nites ago. Last night, I watched "The Best Years of Our Lives" with Dana Andrews. and Frederick March. One of the old classics I watch every decade or so.

Shifty....

This movie may shock some but it's a reasonable portrayal of how part of Britian's society is today.
