Watched the quite fine "Another Year" (2010), another one of British filmmaker Mike Leigh's emotionally honest portraits of ordinary people and their everyday lives. In this case, the unhappiness of friends and relatives swirls around a quite happily married middle-aged couple over the course of a year, and it was so nice to see a portrayal of a really good, solid, loving, long-term marriage for a change. Excellent performances and direction, just a very touching, good little film.

Watched Texas Killing Fields last week.

Apparently not everybody's cup of tea but I liked it despite the jumbled plot
and structural problems, the shady characters and gritty settings compensate.
Yeah good movie!

@love2me,
Watched Sideways late last night; it's a good movie about two friends who travel from San Diego to the San Luis Obispo area wine country before the "actor's" wedding the following weekend, and they get involved with two women. Good entertainment for wine lovers who understands anything about pino; me, I love reds like cabs, vins, and merlots.

I watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes the other night.

Awesome special effects - combining CGI and the acting of Andy Serkis in a chimp suit (same guy who played Gollum in Fellowship of the Rings).

I warmed to it kinda slowly because I have a hard time seeing animals abused (even in a sci-fi fantasy), but the central character Cesar the Chimpanzee is a fascinating hero.

Larry Crowne

Tom hanks excels again. At first i thought What the F
keep watching.
A tom hanks production.. He married a mind.
A very cool bend in his path
One may abhore the system The money grubbing idiocy
But Larry [Lance]fimds a way
Or live in greenland.
Which may be ultimately depressing
Or uplifting.

Personally.
I think he has accepted the world as we have made it.
I cant agree to that. If i did nazism would have a point.
The black pit as defined by Fred ,would suck us down.
We cannot stand idle.
But I agree by doing it. i will not rebel. or change the world. Im a nobody.
Im one of the 6 billion, even if i do have a big IQ i do nothing with it.
so im the fool

Conan

I am dead sure.
that Conan in this movie is NOT the one imagined by Howard.
if he had not used his mind. Conan would not exist.
All else all talk of who and what.. is crap
R.E Howard INVENTED Conan. he is not from comics or fantasy Fiction.
Thus
Who is Jason Mamoa.
Well he is well known to me as Ronan Dex, tech specialist from cetida
[stargate]
Apparently he is hunk on baywatch... lol what a joke.

Is he Conan.. NO
Sorry Jason.. Arnie trumped you.
You may be macho. But arnie is MACHISMO

when he says 'come with me if you want to live'
believe it
When Summer Glau says it..
Believe it
When jason says it... hmmmmmmmmmmm

We watched Water for Elephants - as much as I loved the book, the
movie is just a cheap version of it. There is absolutely no chemistry between Reese Whitersporn and Robert Pattison, actually I though Reese was doing a very poor acting job. What a shame, the book is just brilliant.
