Thanks Lash, I'll wait for it to come on free. I guess we will see the Wolf of Wall Street. Something tells me I'm going to be depressed after that one as well
One of my favorite Tom Hanks films was "Road to Perdition", yes it's violent, but it also has Paul Newman as a major Irish mob boss. Also Jude Law as a creepy crime scene photographer/hit man.
Scorcese is a good director and always provides great scores in his films.
"Wolf" goes great with "Hustle"
The fifth collaboration(Last one was The Aviator) for these two (DiCaprio-Scorcese)...it's fun
The aviator...ahhh. He truly made mental illness come to life. The fear and repression of character provided was genuinely palpable. Awesome performance .
Watched AntiTrust last night. It's about computer geeks who are the brightest grads from Stanford. One goes to work for firm in Oregon, and the other stays in his garage to develop software for Open Source. Lots of twists and turns that keeps the viewer on their toes. It's about "who can you trust?" I highly recommend it. * I found this VCR in one of many boxes of VCR's in the garage. I think it was made in 2000.
Got a by-the-numbers plot? A premise that's intriguing but also has holes in it? Dialogue that needs punching up? Hire Tim Robbins. He can save just about anything.
It was basically the same story as My Big Fat Greek Wedding: smart and sensible ethnic girl forgets to take care of herself because she is too busy taking care of her crazy family until she finds true love. I like Moonstruck much better. For starters, the acting was better in Moonstruck.
I saw Nebraska. It reminded me of the David Lynch film, Straight Story, for which Sissy Spacek should have won an Oscar for best supporting actress.
Nebraska was a tad depressing.

I watched the first of the Hobbit films. I thought Peter Jackson was slavishly imitating early Spielberg but, then, I did not see it at the fast speed but on DVD.
The best parts were whenever Kate Blanchett and Ian McKellar were on screen with the creme de la creme when they read each other's minds. I had trouble understanding Andy Cirkus as Gollum.
