@glitterbag,
Nebraska has gotten great reviews and there was an interesting article on the director Alex Payne in The New Yorker
I believe he did About Schmidt.
I'll wait til it's on demand

@panzade,
Moonstruck. Old comedy from the 90's. I laugh at loud every time I see it!

@Germlat,
Cher is a remarkable actress in addition to her pop stardom.
She brought out the best in Nick Cage.
The supporting cast was wonderful too

@panzade,
We watched Captain Phillips, Tom Hanks, through on demand last night. We both thoroughly loved it. Edge-of-the-seat intensity and grip was maintained throughout. I'd watch it again. High recommendations to all.

@Germlat,
Moonstruck is one of my all-time favorite movies. It's a feel-good flick with a great cast, and each repeat viewing just makes me love it even more. Even though it's about 23 years old, it doesn't seem at all dated, and it still makes me laugh every time I watch it.

Just watched the Godfather for the hundredth time. Probably the greatest film trilogy of all time IMO
I can watch it in any order and it still retains its beauty and power.
Last night it was part II and the marvel of John Cazale's acting as Fredo.
Especially the scene where Michael tells him"You're nothing to me now"

@panzade,
While out today we bought two DVD's, One is White House Down with Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx and the other is Captain Phillips with Tom Hanks, we will watch one of them tonight.

@panzade,
I watched Kinky Boots last night. It's an off beat story that I enjoyed very much.

I remember "about Schmidt", great actors, and I left the movie totally depressed. Has anyone seen Nebraska? I can't decide if I want to wait until it comes on Demand.

@jcboy,
I think Capt Phillips will blow your socks off. It's too intense for young children, I think you mentioned a child but I don't recall the age.

@glitterbag,
Nebraska has been put on my "on demand sit at home with a bowl of popcorn" list.
However.
Monument Men will be attended opening night.
I just finished reading the book. And although it was poorly written, the subject fascinates.

Nebraska is a great film. More of a comedy then About Schmidt. The cast is great. Especially Bruce Dern. Even Will Forte puts in a strong performance.

Bruce Dern is a favorite of mine. I didn't know he was in that one.

@tsarstepan,
Thanks, I'm going to see it Thursday I hope. About Schmidt was so depressing, when I saw a connection drawn between the two I started to dig in my heels. I think I mentioned we watched Blue Jasmine, I was ready to toss myself under a bus.

@glitterbag,
I was particularly disappointed in Blue Jasmine's ending. Woody Allen should have taken a lighter approach with his characters and the film's ending.
