You don't think that dems who have loved ones in Iraq are going to agree with Kerry that their friends and family are stupid?

They are stupid.

No you are...

I'm sorry, did Kerry say 'if you go to Iraq, you are stupid?'

You guys are too funny, really. It just goes to show that if you throw a dog a bone, it'll bite every time

Why repeat the obvious? Anyone who cares to look at the numbers will see for themselves.

It's obvious that Kerry made a gaffe. That's why he is a dork.

The main reason I wanted to be sure to post this was to guage the liberal reaction and was not surprised in the least. Well, ok, maybe Nimh surprised me a bit. I thought we had agreed on something once before this.

Kerry got caught with his foot in his mouth. It happens. It also happens to a lot of other people and the reactions are almost always the same. Those that agree with the gaffer defend the actions and make excuses while those opposed make it into a grand scale event.

Personally, I don't believe for a minute that Kerry was calling our troops idiots or that people that join the military are dumber then those that don't. He didn't get to his position in life with that kind of thinking.

I would ask only one thing though as a result of this whole thing. For the liberals to remember this event and how stupid the reaction from the right has been. It's a refelction of your reaction to gaffes from the other side.

You and the dems obviously don't care other than their partisan economic fear mongering.

Shall I go back and quote how many time you Cyc have stated the economy would be ruined by the repubs?

You seem to forget your partisan smears have followed you around.

The dems intend to raise the taxes, WOW, what a strategy to help the economy grow! (cynical)

After several tax hikes inflation has remained low...

It seems your strategy has been WRONG all along...

What makes you think anything else you think is credible?

What should make us trust your integrity after all this political garbage you have leveled at the president and his policies?

Now the man you voted for has insulted our armed forces and here you are Johnny on the spot to stick up for him...

Point made...

Well, McG - you have a point, but I think the right's reaction to this particular gaffe was fueled by a bit of desperation from a group thinking they need something - anything, to hold onto.

I agree that it was a stupid thing for Kerry to do, but I don't agree that this reaction by the right is comparable to reactions from the left lately.

I see the right should just sit back and approve of a US senator referring to our volunteer army as uneducated. Thanks for clarifying that for us. (cynical)

How about the under-reaction from the left? Isn't that a bit more revealing?

Well if I was right to say that was the first time I agreed with you, I gotta say, this is the second time. Wise words, even.

Twist this nasty comment around of Kerry's and blame it on the right?

Twist the war on terror around and blame it on America?

The left is the epitome of twisted evil. Twisted Evil

I would say John Kerry is in the "lurch"...

The right will not let up on this one until John Kerry apologizes for his trick or treat comments.

I think the left underestimates how many democrats are stunned by these latest developments.

I have many democrat friends and they are scrambling to put a good face on this. They are also now more susceptible to an alternative to their own party.

Well I agree that Kerry is a Dork, but his reference to study and appreciation of education was aimed at Bush a proud C student from Ivy League schools. I caught right away he was snapping Bush for being too ignorant of world culture and differences, he blundered into Iraq. Shame on all of you who thought he was talking about the troops, I think it shows how little appreciation the American public has for it's men and women in uniform. Don't blame that big doofus Kerry, search your souls and admit what you think about those brave souls who were sent in harms way. No yellow magnets on SUV's, donate to Walter Reed or find some way in your area to support (really support) the troops.
