GUN CONTROL: taking guns out of the hands of the people who abide the laws in the first place, and doing nothing about the ones who don't.

enough said, gun control is a fallacy. if its not then prove to me that criminals will follow the laws and you win.

OH WAIT THEY don't, THATS WHY THEY ARE CALLED CRIMINALS!
my bad.

virginia tech with guns: guy goes in and kills 32 people

virginia tech without guns: guy doesnt have gun finds a new way to kill people, whats easier than buying a gun? MAKING A FREAKIN BOMB.
300 dead.yay gun control.

What's easier than buying a gun? Dreaming up stupid fantasies like this. Unless you meant a nuclear bomb...now they're really easy. Or perhaps he will invent a new weapon which kills everyone he doesnt like by mind-power alone.

Wow, that's really dumb. How many reports of mass shootings are from people who the neighbours say, 'Oh, he was quiet, kept to himself, seemed nice enough.'

Fact is, the more guns there is in a society, the more chance there is of someone who's snapped to get their hands on one.

With or without gun control criminals have guns. Your position appears to be 'I'm happy the way things are'. Me, I'm moving to a country that does have controls on firearms. And don't piss me off, I've got a nasty temper. And a gun.

the point remains that there is no conceivable need for a civilian to go about armed with a 9mm Glock semi automatic pistol. If you are determined that civilians have the right to be armed, then at least keep the armament proportional to the threat. A six shot revolver will stop a mugger. You dont need a machine gun. If on the other hand a massacre is on your mind, a semi automatic pistol from the local hardware store is just the thing.

Wheel guns are OK but they tend to jam worse than a modern firearm like a Glock. They also tend to be more difficult to conceal. Concealed carry is just that - you aren't allowed to show off your hardware. My mom has a little Lady Smith & Wesson .38 wheelgun. Used to be called a "chief's special" because the Chiefs of Police would carry them in their boots. The barrel is so short because of the design that shooting it accurately beyond about 15' is a real challenge. I'll take a Glock. TYVM.

I guess u mean stupid fantasies like Tim Mc Veigh dreamed up ?

The worst school murders of the 20th century
occurred in 1927 when a disgruntled and demented school board member,
Andrew Kehoe, dynamited a school building in Bath, Michigan,
with several bombs, killing more than 40 people and injuring
another 58.

The Columbine boys made quite a few bombs, gave them personal names,
and posted their construction on the Intenet.

The best defense is a good counterattack.
If the victims had been armed with pistols and revolvers
( and practiced in their use ),
Cho 'd have been lucky to last 3 or 4 seconds
before getting multiply perforated with defensive gun fire.

Its a shame that mental health professionals
let him roam freely.

Personally, I favor 2 inch . 44 special revolvers,
loaded with hollowpointed slugs ( to put the brakes on them, in an effort
to avoid overpenetration ) so that maximum energy is released
WITHIN the target. It has been my experience with automatics, including Glocks
( brand new out of the box ) that THAY JAM TOO MUCH.
That can be embarrassing, if u unexpectedly come under attack from a violent predator.

I have found revolvers to be much more mechanically reliable,
tho u do get an occasional broken firing pin.
( U might consider carrying a spare, for balance. )

I have a 9 mm Luger P-'08, as an artifact from 1940,
but I 'd not be inclined to use it for defensive purposes.
Defensive guns require much more firepower
than those intended for offensive use; u bet your life.

However, candor moves me to admit
that I have gotten marginally better accuracy from automatics
than from revolvers. Concerning your comment that:
" You dont need a machine gun " I am not aware that anyone
has made a practice of arming himself with fully automatic weapons.
( That is merely an observation, not an evaluation of merit. )
Cho did not use automatic weapons.

David
Regarding fully automatic weapons,
I will add that 9mm submachineguhs e.g. my special favorite,
the H & K MP 5 KA4 can be SUPERB anti-burglary weapons;
( its as if Heckler & Koch repealled Newton 's 3rd Law of Motion ).
Very sweet, for home defense.

You all are going about this the wrong way:

No guns: wrongo
More guns: wrongo-er.

The solution: Kevlar underwear! or outerwear I really don't care.

See, what we gotta do here is get them varmints in there with a whole crotch protecting brain saving armor clothes, that way luno boy with his them guns can't do but see as his projectiles get all embedded in our fashionable underoos while at the same time giving the targets from his target practice the chance to go and tackle him and separate him from his gun(s)

This will also be a chance for us to go back to the good ol' times when sporting around the field in a suit of armor was not only fashionable but necessary!

I mean you never knew back then if you were gonna run into a dragon while going out to the castle to check on the ogre insurgency, right?

Since the legality of gun control is in question, I propose bullet control.

I can think of no legal challenge to this, and it could be a good source of revenue. Someone wanting bullets would not only have to register, but would have to pay a $1.00 tax for each bullet purchased.

Chris Rock has already proposed this way back when , but he was more extreme about it , asking for a $500 per bullet price, so people with grudges would have to put the bullets on layaway, get a job and start saving up.

So if you found someone riddled with bullets you'd comment: "Damn! he must've did something real bad! They put $3000 worth of bullets in his ass!"

I'm quoting from memory so it might not be quite accurate but the message stands.

I have never done it myself,
but I 've known a lot of folks who were not satisfied
with the quality of ordinary, commerically manufactured ammunition,
and so choose to make their own match grade ammo,
to the finest specifications.

That way u have exactly the amount of powder in the shell that u want,
and slug configuration precisely to your delight; the creme de la creme.

Obviously, the 2nd Amendment covers ammunition.
If its philosophy were otherwise, thay simply wud not have enacted
an amendment protecting possession of weapons,
if the Founders did not want them to be used.
Incidentally, we know that the Founders had the same philosophy
as the NRA, the Second Amendment Foundation, etc,
since thay were quite explicit in their writings
and in their gun related hobbies.
For instance, there survives a letter from Thomas Jefferson,
America 's 3rd President and the author of the Declaration of Independence,
Founder of the University of Virginia,
wherein he advises his 12 year old nephew to always take his gun
with him when he goes out to walk, and to become proficient in accuracy.

James Madison used to run gunnery competitions, with prizes, etc, etc.

The good news is that it will never fly in America. The bad news is that what you really mean is CARTRIDGE control and you don't even know enough about the topic to talk about it intelligently.

Bullets by themselves are fairly harmless unless somebody were to put a bunch of them in a bag and whack somebody with it.

Basic reality is that normal Americans aren't going to give up their basic rights involving weapons because a bunch of losers in demokkkrat-controlled cities don't know how to live. You'd get closer to the source of the problem by outlawing and banning the demokkkrat party since the most major thing which correlates with every sort of urban pathology in America is demokkkrat infestation. In plain language, it's the cities with old-fashioned demokkkrat machine politics where you see all the grief, including 90% of the gang banging.
