Fresh powder on the slopes
March's mud-scented hopes
Clam chowder in my bowl
Sky blue tinted souls
Apple trees by the ocean
Yankee pride and devotion
Fields of lupins and lillies
Landscapes rocky and hilly
Ice-skating at twilight
car rides chasing moonlight

True love can be misplaced or misbegotten
but if it's real, it never dies

True friendship can be lost or worse, forgotten-
but if it's true-it never lies.

(Happy Valentine's Day!)

In the heart of the forest
We wait on the moon
Counting the arrows
We've made for burning
Lights fired out over the lake
Rising falling
Another name spoken too soon
And too late
To see the dawning

now friend it is my understanding
that life can be much too demanding
that is why i offer to only you
the beachfront property on this backwoods bayou
better grab it quick my buddy my pal
you could catch fish from a porch rail
have your wife cleaning the ocean bass
while you drink beer from a bottle made of glass

Radio was a child's fantasy world
before TV and the Internet
Sitting before the static words hurled
about famed crime fighter The Green Hornet.

was it delusional do you think
to presume i could move a mountain
did the gods looking down slyly wink
when time was short and the moments countin'

Traditional
Ralph Nader has written a wonderful new book
about his family's traditional child raising ways
It examines his youth with a backward look
that shaped his life to the end of his days.

eddie cantor was his name

Icarus had a famous and clever dad
whose labyrinth was the talk of Minos.
Daedalus' wings were designed so bad
flying became well known no nos.

such emoticons
adorn your purple pages
of wit and passions
when that inner muse rages

Zen
The sound of zoom, zoom, zoom
cars fueled by zen, zen, zen
don't backfire boom, boom boom
crazy toys of men, men, men.

sounds of laughter fill the sky
fly with me, fear not fly
take you away grab my arm
together we'll cause cause no harm
leap and glide together we fall
landing in grasp of the picture of all
snapped in time a photo preserved
let us love with nothing reserved.

Jeans.(so true)

Jeans shield my knees from winter winds,
they hide my socks and private things
like penknife, wallet, notes and coins,
besides all this, they gird my loins.
But as I age, they seem to shrink
for, as I bend down to the sink
they bunch and wrinkle round my middle
and, no matter how I pull and fiddle,
my shirt comes out around my back,
to show the world my builder's crack.
They grip my waist as if a vice,
it seems I face a mid life choice,
to either throw them in the bin,
or just continue..... breathing in.

Sunshine.

They wore their invisible shackles
And considered themselves free
There were no marks upon their skin
For anyone to see
No evidence that they were slaves
To their society
But their hope and hearts were killed eventually

(Very beautiful, Endy, Beautiful and moving)

Familiar

Sometimes I need to feel alive
The world seems so strange
Am I the alien
No one recognizes me anymore
Nor does anything register
After you're gone
Nothing but the pain seems familiar
The pleasure of it when you're not around
The desires when you're not mine
Yes, there's still something left
Something familiar to me
