Tell that malignant little wart on a wilted cucumber that you have your choice of all the fish in the sea, and he ain't no catch of the day.

There! He'll probably take it as encouragement, if you don't say it with feeling.

I remarried my first wife. We both jumped at it. It was the best and easiest choice we've ever made, knowing what we were getting into.

I remarried my first wife too. Knowing what we were getting into, we must have both been nuts.

Still good friends though, 30 some years later.

I'm hoping she'll report that she busted out in uncontrollable laughter, dropping the phone as she fell on the floor, needing both hands to hold her middle to try to ease the pain caused by such uproarious humor.

Either that or what roger said.

Montana--

Forgive me, but I've lost track of your Tarnished Knights. This is your romance from eight years ago? You broke up because you were tired of mothering and mirroring a grown man?

How did he find you in New Brunswick? Why does he think you've been yearning for what he represents--let alone what he is?

Unfortunately, the past comes with tentacles and every tentacle is covered with little, sticky suckers.

Hold your dominion.

Ok, sorry for the delay, but it's been a busy weekend.

He started calling Friday afternoon. He starts off by telling me how much he's changed and how he never stopped loving me.
Then he goes on to talk about these plans he has on moving to Maine, as close to me as he can get, so I can go visit him.
Before I could get any words out of my mouth, he says he'll call me back.
A little later he calls back and starts back on the "I've changed" bit and is saying that he wants to go to school, start a career, the whole nine yards.
Then he starts back on how much he still loves me and asks me to marry him.
I start laughing (couldn't help it) and he gets mad, saying "it's not funny, I'm serious".
I told him that it didn't work out the 6 years we were together and it wouldn't work out now, but he kept insisting that he's changed and how everything would be different.
We went back and forth with this for a while, until I finally told him that I would always love him, but I was no longer in love with him and that I was interested in another man.
He started crying and hung up on me, so that was that.

I cried for a while after that, not because I feel any loss, but because he's a lost soul and I feel very sorry for him.
