Okay, folks, here is the schedule for week #1 of the NFL:

****Sept 7 @ 8:30 pm-
Miami @ Pittsburgh
****Sept 10 @ 1:00 pm or so-
Seattle @ Detroit
Philadelphia @ Houston
New York Jets @ Tennessee
New Orleans @ Cleveland
Denver @ St Louis
Cincinatti @ Kansas City
Buffalo @ New England
Baltimore @ Tampa Bay
Atlanta @ Carolina
****Sept 10 @ 4:15 pm or so-
Chicago @ Green Bay
San Francisco @ Arizona
Dallas @ Jacksonville
Indianapolis @ New York Giants
****Sept 11 @ 8:00 pm or so-
Minnesota @ Washington
San Diego @ Oakland

16 games this 1st week. All you have to do is predict who will win each game. And, oh yes, you need to guess the total number of points the two teams in the last game (San Diego vs Oakland) will score. Your selections must be posted here before the start of the 1st game (Sept 7 @ 8:30 pm). All times are ET.

That is all there is to participating. No registration. No secret password. And, if you are successful over the course of the season, you might get to hold the coveted trophy that we award at the end of the year.

A Gentle Plea from Johnboy: please check to be sure that you have made a selection in each of the games and don't forget to predict the total number of points scored in the last game. Thank yall for playing.

During the football season, osso, women are called "boys" for the sake of acceptance. For many years football was our equivalent of the quilting bee and the women pretty much left us alone.

Then they burned their bras and insisted on watching football with the boys and we allowed them in, but only if they agreed to be called boys and were willing to keep a bowl of potato chips filled at all times.

Izzat so? I dunno, I've always watched football with only a few people at a time. Must be like how we used to say, C'mon you guys, all of us girls, back in Chicago. Ok, ok, I'll retract my quibble.

Aha. I watched football even before the bra burning era. Take that, and that, and then, that....
I also spent a lot of time sewing dresses.
Make hay out of that...

Some of my early football watching was it was one of the first ways I could just look at guys in action, not kidding. Still part of the attraction.

Thanks for the chips, Osso.

<Gustav munches chips and chuckles, thinking about how panzade will have to wade through pages of Gustav/osso banter in order to find the football picks.>

Panzade is bereft of internet access, as I understand it. RJB knows we'll shut up soon.
