Early games over with. We all got burnt by Indy's loss and most of us by Atlanta's.
Standing tall at 8-3 are Osso, Cjhsa and JPB. The rest of us are, um, resting.
In the race betwixt Chiso and Cowdoc, Cowdoc is up by one game.

Osso and JPB are at 10-4 with Tico, Region and Cjhsa close behind at 9-5. But not, by my calculation, close enough to catch up given the picks in the last two games today.

Yet another abominable week! My only consolation is that chiso is doing almost as badly as I, even though I would not have thought that possible. Hope you all had a very merry Christmas!

Week #16 certainly turned out to be a mixed bag, with some of us doing very well while others did badly. I reckon things can get get screwed up in the last week or so as, for example, a team that has clinched a playoff slot might decide to rest rather than risk injury to key players.

So is JPB actually two different people? How else can we explain her erratic results: Week #13-- 6-10; #14-- 10-6; #15-- 4-12 and this week taking the prize with a fine record of 12-4. Well done, indeed!
She joins George, Kickycan and Chiso as players who have won a weekly title twice. As I recall, we give a prize to the winner of the most weeks.

Osso and Tico had a good week, finishing at 11-5. Liontamer, Region, Cjhsa, Jespah, Fbaezer came in in a cluster at 10-6. Johnboy crossed the line at 9-7. He stopped and turned around and (could it be?) trudging along in the back at 7-9 were Chiso and Cowdoc. And Ms Cowdoc and and Pantalones

Thir only consolation was that the worst expert on ESPN was at 6-10. The best finished at 11-5.

Here are the standings after 16 weeks and with just one week left in the regular season. As I recall, the A2K NFL trophy (and an awesome piece of sculpture it is) goes to the player with the highest winning percentage. Johnboy won in Year #1 and Kickycan last year.
(I made a couple of minor adjustments to last week's rankings due to an error here at A2K NFL Central):

1) Chiso (142-82 for the season) (.634) (1st last week)
2) Cowdoc (149-91) (.621) (2nd)
*) Best ESPN Guy (149-91) (.621) (4th)
3) Sublime (117-74) (.613) (4th)

4) JPinMilw (135-89) (.603) (5th)
5) Region (144-96) (.600) (7th)
6) Child of Light (115-77) (.599) (6th)
7) Liontamer (126-85) (.597) (8th)
8) Osso (143-97) (.596) (11th)
9) Pantalones (140-100) (.583) (9th)

10) Johnboy (133-107) (.554) (12th)
11) JPB (129-106) (.549) (17th)
12) Fbaezer (131-109) (.546) (12th)
12) Tico (131-109) (.546) (16th)
14) Ms Cowdoc (26-22) (.542) (9th)
*) Worst ESPN Picker (130-110) (.542) (11th)
15) George (112-96) (.538) (14th)
16) Panzade (44-36) (.537) (15th)

17) Jespah (121-119) (.504) (18th)
18) Cjhsa (73-80) (.477) (19th)

Kickycan (68-38) (.642) has been moved to the inactive list.

Chiso had a lead of .015 over Cowdoc heading into week #16. They both had dreadful weeks. The lead has shrunk to .013. Last week Cowdoc slipped by that amount; Chiso dropped by .015. Pick wisely, guys.

And we all should, as a good week can bump some of us in the final rankings.

The schedule for Week #17, with the first game on Saturday (night?):

Saturday (12/30):
NYGiants @ Washington
Sunday 12/31 -early:
Seattle (z) @ Tampa Bay
St Louis @ Minnesota
Carolina @ New Orleans (z)
Atlanta @ Philadelphia (x)
Oakland @ NY Jets
Detroit @ Dallas (x)
Green Bay @ Chicago (*)
Pittsburgh @ Cincinnati
Cleveland @ Houston
Buffalo @ Baltimore (z)
New England (z) @ Tennessee
Miami @ Indianapolis (z)
Jacksonville @ Kansas City
Sunday - late:
San Francisco @ Denver
Arizona @ San Diego (z) + total points

I have no idea if there is any pertinence, but (x) = clinched playoff;
(y) = clinched wild card; (z) = clinched division;
(*) = clinched division and home field

So this is the 17th and final week of the regular season. 256 games. And this is my second and a half year or so, so that is something like 650 games. It has been a lot of fun and I thank yall for playing And special thanks this year to Osso, Region, Cowdoc, Jespah, Fbaezer, Pantalones and Tico for having the humor, interest (and time) to pick every game every week this year.

I am thinking that, after posting the results of Week #17 on Monday, we should start a new thread on A2K that hypes it as being a Super bowl picking thread (As I recall, we start with picking the wild card games one week and then we pick all the way through to the end of the Super Bowl).
Any ideas for a title that might appeal to the masses?

I dunno about the masses.. it appeals to me.

Think of it, one more percentage bit and I could catch up with Lion the Tamer... but I'm overdue for a downfall.
Congrats to JPB, who I understand, re the two people picking teams thing.

Some weeks I pay attention, some I don't. What remains to be answered is which weeks have the better outcomes
