Nice place. It's about time you got the hell out of Kansas.

If you run across Tim Dubek or Monty Sutherland, make sure you say hello.

Should I mention your name, or would that not be wise.

That might earn you a swift kick in the groin area, so, you make the call.

Wichita.

Kansas is nice in the sense that there are no mountains to get in the way of the horizon ... no oceans to get in the way of a nice moonlight walk ... deer and antelope play ... a discouraging word is seldom heard ... and the skies are not cloudy all day.

What's not to love.

Actually, I have several friends and a few relatives in Wichita. And, the mountains don't get in the way of your view in Scottsdale, I assure you. When you live ten miles off the continental divide with 10,000 foot peaks on all sides, the horizon gets a little bit high. One of the few things I miss about Kansas are the sunsets. They're even better in Arizona, but we just don't have them here.

Yeah, the sunsets in Arizona are amazing.

My wife's family is from Idaho, actually (small town east of Twin Falls). And I have family in Boise.

Well, we're not in Kansas anymore. Instead we are into Week #15 of this NFL thing. I don't think I have ever driven through Kansas myself, but my semi-autobiographical friend Gothboy has hitchhiked through there on occasion. Long lifts through an endlesslly unchanging landscape where Gothboy was expected to keep the driver awake by telling a steady stream of stories. Johnboy, I mean Gothboy, could tell stories.
And it is a place where a driver tends to drive fast, and then faster, and then really fast until getting pulled over by the Kansas State Police.

But I digress from Week #15. No, Sublime, you don't get tagged with two losses for missing the Thursday and Saturday games. You have to actually make your picks in order to lose, and Johnboy, Region, Fbaezer, Pantalones and Cjhsa thought hard before making the wrong choices in those first two games. Everyone else went 1-1 except for Jes(she of the unorthodox selection method)pah. She is 2-0.

In the deviant point thing, for what it is worth, Johnboy and Region have the same picks in every game and agree with the majority in all but the Atlanta-Dallas game. We were wrong of course, but our deviant points for the week is way down there at 1. Jespah is off to a good start but the majority of us think the visiting teams will fare poorly. Jespah's deviant point total is up in nosebleed territory at 82. JPB, at 54, is also worth of note.

16 players this week. We ended up missing George, Child and Kicky.

Luckily I was wrong thinking I was wrong on both picks (got one right). Consulted my scratch sheet instead of my post on that.

Chicago finally wins the last early game. That was close.

Osso is at 9-2 while Chiso and Liontamerx are in the hunt at 8-3. Five of us as are at 7-4.
