Yes, the prize is right explanation was for this. Going with 1 assures I'll win if everyone else goes higher than the result... wait a minute!

I honestly just figured this twisted logic won't get me anywhere.

I was trying to figure out how you could subtract a safety from a field goal, but gave up..

Johnboy, I don't know what you're talking about, with the 'minus one game per week' business.

and we need to give Panz some incentive. And we're glad to see him back.
What if he does spectacularly well? That would be a good thing.
Then he should get a royal robe of vermin for future past. Er, Ermine...
Some sort of axillary kingdom.
I mean auxiliary..
Perhaps a Prize with Asterisk.

All this and I haven't had a bit to drink - just got in from shovelling soil around my front yard, waiting for the pain, and playing with words in the meantime.

In my reading on the NFL, such as my reading is, it seems this has been a particularly berserk season, at least per Peter King, who cites the many teams posting unexpectedly middling success rates, that is, unexpected from both improved and lowered ratios of re expected wins to losses.

I dunno, thinking about it some more. If Panz (or whatever latecomer in future years) won over the seven last weeks, he might still win in my mind.
Even this week is yet another crapshoot. Whereas someone coming in on the last game is really out of bounds. You're probably right on the six.

Feel free to rethink your logic, pantalones, of your choice of 1 point. Anyone is welcome to change picks prior to kick off of the first game. Just be sure to post the change in pretty large print so I can see it.
The "all games minus one" thing was deliberate, osso. My thinking was that I don't want to see folks finish the season by cherry-picking the "easy" games (not that anyone would do that). At the same time, if some well-intentioned player inadvertantly leaves out a game and I fail to catch it, that player will not be disqualified for the week. I think JPinMilw is one of several lawyers here. I hope they understand what Johnboy, who is decidedly not a lawyer, was attempting to say.

(PS Osso: Did you get the envelope I mailed to you on Sat?)

I got it, realjohn, when I picked up the mail (after more soil shovelling) late yesterday afternoon.) I don't pick up the mail every day. I've never lived in this kinda place before, where there is a set of mailboxes for about twenty houses, each wee chamber having little room, and each jambed with ads you have to look through for bills. I've specified those community mailbox thingies on design projects. Now I wish I'd registered doubt to the developer... For the curious, if any, RJ and I have a shared interest in urban design.

OK, got it on the all games minus one (for screw-up).

I'm sticking to my 1 point prediction solely on the base that I hope that I'm in the position to say

"Man, I should've changed my point prediction so I could've won the week".

Just IF it happens I would've changed it to 33, but I'm sticking with my 1 hoping to draw some bad/good luck.

Either that or that the rules are changed between now and Monday so that teams can get extra points without touchdowns now.

14 players in so far. Well, Johnboy isn't in yet but he will be soon. I am missing JPB, Sublime, Kickycan and Panzade.
Here in Virginia it is a nasty afternoon, with pretty heavy rain that started as sleet and some gusty winds. We shut down the stores around 1 pm so folks who were travelling could get going to where they wanted to end up. Or, in some cases I sensed, not necessarily where they wanted to be this weekend but where they were expected to be. Yall take care. See you tomorrow.

Happy Thankgiving, everybody! It's finally snowing here this morning. We may yet get a little winter moisture, which would make all the valley thankful indeed!
