Off-topic, but:

The main building destroyed in the Riyadh bombing was that of Vinnell, another secretive, CIA connected, "private military consultancy," and a Northrop Grumman subsidiary. There will be no public disclosure of the names of those killed in that building. There is an interconnection between Vinnell and the Carlyle Group, and between Vinnell and Kellogg Brown Root/Halliburton. (And of course DynCorp, that other paramilitary+ company which ran the slave trade in Bosnia, among other interesting activities including managing our "war" in Colombia....)

If you're interested in following this route, see the stories in today's Boston Globe, Washington Post, and Washington Times about Vinnell and its involvement. It's beginning to look as though the terrorist attacks to date may have been deeply personal, interconnected with (aimed at?) the Saudi bin Laden family and particular US military-industrial corporations.

Perhaps it's another reason why the security measures surrounding Cheney were far more dramatic than those imposed on Bush.

Okay, PDiddie, if you'll suggest a title. (I have a whole file on this which I sent to our old friend JRusso -- we share information on these subjects.)

But first this goodie:

Ah, Lola. One of the great pleasures of life: moving. Even better: moving on a very hot, humid day. Should you survive, here's a link to:

Well, I tend to think of it as "editorial license" as I'm sure you would your choice of the phrase "childish bastards".

So, we disagree, and strongly. Amen, and amen.

(Rep. Jim Dunnam, D-Waco, talks to the media behind a large crowd of supporters who gathered on the south steps of the Capitol in Austin today.)

AUSTIN -- Several hundred supporters gave a hero's welcome early today to more than 50 returning Democratic legislators, whose four-day flight to Oklahoma succeeded in killing a Republican-backed congressional redistricting bill.

Now that the redistricting measure pushed by U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay is dead, the Democrats said they would concentrate on helping Republicans balance a state budget and crack down on high homeowners' insurance rates during the remaining 18 days of the legislative session.

"Government is by the people and for the people, and we had to go to Oklahoma to say government is not for Tom DeLay," said Rep. Jim Dunnam, D-Waco, a leader of the insurgent group, which fled to Ardmore, Okla., on Monday to break and quorum and prevent the House from conducting business.

"Austin - Several hundred small picture, me-centric people cheered the damage done to the concept of rule by a representative majority today as Democrats slunk back across the border."

There were other issues that have been delayed by this rather stupid tactic. I would hope the good citizens of Texas would realize this and suspend four days pay from the weazels who left the state (high & dry). What if some major disaster had struck Texas that required the legislature to address, and these dickheads couldn't get back to Austin because of it?

Small picture, me-centric is properly descriptive.

They all ought to be thrown in the clink. A little prison enema might make them think twice about pulling a stunt like that again.

Yep! This whole thing is/was about preventing 'royalty' from imposing unjust fiefdoms among the freed serfs.

Gosh, it really does depend on whose ox is being gored, doesn't it? I recall in the olden days, it was southern conservatives who used every trick in the books to derail legislation they didn't like, such as civil rights laws.

So, lighten up on the Texas Democrats. They played the type of game that others have played in the past when you don't have the numbers but you do have a strategy...

Tee hee!
