awwww, that poor baby. Sad

I agree with boomer, Jillian will be bumping into things for a while
to come. Right now, she's probably disoriented and still under the
influence of medication. The swelling around the eyes (and internally)
will give her a blurry vision for several weeks.

Put a floating tire around her, so she won't hurt herself again.

i brightened it a bit
does that help?

She is absolutly her self today.

A little clumsy, but no problems.

I have given her a couple , less then 1/2 doses , of tylenol in case she hurts.. but she is acting like nothing is wrong .

We are taking 'mbuppy' to the park in a while to let her get out of the house for a bit and .. if my nerves allow.. let her run off some energy.. Laughing

I was thinking of rolling her up in bubble wrap,
cut some arm & leg holes .. and .. voila ..
safe baby.. Laughing

Such a terrible ordeal for a little one. She is in my prayers for a fast and full recovery from this horrible situation.

Shewolf--

You are obviously not a woman for false optimism, but let me share a fact I picked up from a doctor in the ER when I took my son in for an eye injury.

You've heard about the knock-down, drag-em-out, no-holds-barred tavern brawls in the Romantic Old West?

The damn fools used to gouge each other's eyes out. The eyeball would be out of the socket, dangling down on the cheek, held only by the optic nerve.

About half the time the eyeball could be popped back in with no problems--of course these guys weren't into fine print and intricate embroidery by candlelight, but Bean's eye wasn't actually out of the socket, either.

Hold your dominion.

We took her to the park , and new doggie too.

Ran them both ragged.

One running after her ball, the other running after the ball too..

Both bouncing off of each other in a hurry to beat the other one to the ball

Of course, only one of them won each time,
the other 2 legged 'Mbuppy" just hit the ground giggling everytime the 4 legged "Mbuppy" ran by her.

Cute.

So, I guess that is her official -other- name.
Buppy... but said, as though you have a stuffed nose. Laughing

her eye looks the same.
As you can see in the picture, the swelling is around the outside of the eye and as the panic finds another home for now, I am noticing that her eye IS slower. But, just slightly. I doubt it will be noticible in a regular conversation , unless you are paying complete attention, or know what you are looking for.
And I have a sinking feeling , that one we call mothers intuition... it will just be that way.

> sigh<

She can see.
I tried flapping my hands and other wierd things far to her left side to see if it registers.. and it does.. just as she should... she just has to turn her head a bit more to see whats going on.

So, I will just sit quietly, watch the swelling go down, and enjoy my daughter.

Fair enough....

Kind of a creepy visual to be pulling some peace from..
but it worked. Laughing

Thanks for the report, shewolf. I forgot that you were a nurse. Bean is lucky to have you as a mom. Hope you have a peaceful Mother's Day!

Shewolf--

Glad that it helped. I debated about telling you--gruesome doesn't make everyone feel better, but the facts about no-holds-barred fighting have comforted me many times during domestic first air.

Hold your dominion.

Shewolf, I'm glad to know the lil bean is feeling somewhat better. Its a terrible ordeal to have to suffer through your childrens agonies, and feel as though there is nothing that you can do to take away the pain.

So, take those deep breathes and keep positive thoughts about the eye!

Bless you and yours... (((((((poor lil bean!))))))))

Dyslexia's name is Bob?

Sometimes, reality just doesn't live up to its reputation....

So, Shewolf, how's the Bean? Doing better, I hope....
