That is a very generous offer, soz. CJane had offered too. I'm bowled over that you both would think to do that. Despite the fact that the people here know me as well as anyone could and despite the fact that the agency we are using is very progressive, I tend to think they want more of face to face contact type people to refer.

I just got off the phone with my mom and my sister. My family was writing an en masse letter and I had to warn them to break it up into chunks instead.

I am just jaw dropped dumbfounded by Mr. B's dad. I'm a pretty forgiving person but it took me a long time to get past his last bout of idiocy. This time.... who knows?

I'm gonna let Mr. B handle the biodad crap. I put my foot down about them meeting here (which Mr. B had not been too comforable with anyway) so they'll heve to take it outside.

The papers have to be notorized or it could be as simple as tracking him down and making him sign. We really want to jolly him along and avoid court - especially now that my temper tantrum "just shut it down" is going to cost me a bundle over the next eight months.

However, I did just notice a congratulatory letter in my bulk mail file from the Austrailian Lottery so maybe money won't matter after all!

Although I haven't contributed to this thread so far, I've been reading along with great interest & am so disappointed at this latest setback for you, Mo & Mr B. Not fair, not fair! Sad

Like you, I can't fathom Mr B's father's attitude. And as for bio dad! >> Evil or Very Mad

The best of luck to you, boomerang. I'm hoping that this doesn't drag on too much longer.

Last week we finally got bio-dad to sign the consent for adoption!

My home study is scheduled for July 3. They said they would probably only need a couple of hours.

My attorney said that after the home study that everything would go very quickly.

I might get to make that visit to family this summer after all!

Thank you! Thank you!

I can't believe that everything is coming together. It seems very sudden but it has really been years.

I am so on eggshells worried that something horrid will happen between now and July 3.

Awesome news! So what did the trick for biodad? Bamboo under the fingernails, chinese water torture, making him wear women's underwear on his head?

I was not at all involved with the bio-dad discussion. That was Mr. B's arena. I know Mr. B was losing patience - having made two trips to a neighboring state and had no-show daddy.

I know that no torture was involved but perhaps a "Okay. We'll just have you served with papers and see you in court" probably did the trick.

He signed on Father's Day but he did not seem to be at all aware that it was Father's Day, accoding to Mr. B.

What a perfectly appropriate Father's Day gift for Mr. B!

I am so happy for the three of you.

We passed we passed!

<insert happy dance>

Not only did we pass - we are Highly Recommended!

Yes me!

A Highly Recommended parent.

We had to go sign some papers today and got a tiny little sneak peek at the social worker's report (Peek: "Highly recommended", that's all.)

Now everything goes off to the state for approval. We should have everything all wrapped up within a month! Barring something Earth shattering it is all but done.

My attorney said it should be fine for us to leave town but to make sure we had a changable ticket.
