Thank you, thank you!

Now I'm going to go fashion myself a little parenting tiara and pit the gargantuan pile of fresh cherries my neighbor picked for us the other day.

I think fresh cherry pie sounds like a great way to celebrate.

Why thank you!

I am wearing my Good Parenting Tiara of Approval (GPTA) and I have fully pitted the cherries. Now I shall proceed with the preparation of said pie. When all is done I shall gobble in honor of all of my friends who held my hand.

Thank you all so much.

I was actually forward to some cherry soup, but pie'd be ok.

For now.

Yes, yes, thank you! My head is swelling. I feel like the commander of the Universe.

I would invite you all for pie but I'll be honest. Despite my years of baking this is the very first time I have ever attempted pie.

I cheated and bought crust but I did make the filling from fresh cherries. I had to look up how to pit the damn things too as put in mouth, chew, spit doesn't really work in this situation.

I think I broke my elbow with all the stirstirstiring but the filling just came off the stove and it is tart, tangy and delicious!

I think it is going to turn out okay.

I saved all of the pits in a little bag of peat in my fridge though so in ten years I won't have to rely on my neighbor's tree for fresh cherries.

On 7-11-2016 I might be ready to try my hand at another pie (hopefully my elbow will have recovered by then).

You are all invited.

...although I'll probably pass on the pie now that I know about the chew and spit method of pie making. Laughing

Hey, he'll be like 15 then. Yeah, I'll be there to laugh about how I once thought that was such a hard year and assure you we survived it.

Yay! I done good!

Yay!

I'm still just over the top.

And get this.....

Remember that answer I was all worried about the give him the opportunity to "just enjoy being a kid"?

Out of the entire stack of paperwork we sent in, and it was a pile, that is the quote they pulled out for the home study report.

Too funny.

Yay me!

Yay Mr. B!
