When the temperature is much over eighty degrees, I swoon. I'm so old fashioned.

If you actually "swoon" instead of faint or pass out, you certainly are.

Merry Andrew--

I swoon--unless I'm inelegant enough to sit down and get my head between my legs. Lying down and elevating my feet works even better. but how many chaise lounges does one find in this weary world today.

'Summer', by War...
Ridin' 'round town with all the windows down
Eight track playin' all your fav'rite sounds
The rhythm of the bongos fill the park
The street musicians tryin' to get a start

'Cause it's summer
Summer time is here
Yes it's summer
My time of year
Yes it's summer
My time of year

Stretched out on a blanket in the sand
Kids of all ages diggin' Disneyland
Rappin' on the C.B. radio in your van
We'll give a big "ten four" to the truckin' man

'Cause it's summer
Summer time is here
Yes it's summer
My time of year
Yes it's summer
My time of year

Young boys playin' stick ball in the street
Fire hydrants help to beat the heat
Old man feeding pigeons in the square
Nighttime finds young lovers walking there

'Cause it's summer
Summer time is here
Yes it's summer
My time of year
Yes it's summer
My time of year

In Atlantic City or out in Malibu
Or any where between, I'm telling you
When you feel those balmy breezes on your face
Summer time is the best time any place

'Cause it's summer
Summer time is here
Yes it's summer
My time of year
Yes it's summer
My time of year

You should come and lie on the chaise on our front porch, Noddy. Last year, hubby installed a very powerful outdoor ceiling fan, so there's always a nice, cool breeze there no matter how hot it gets. There's a porch swing and rocking chairs, too. And I'll even bring you a glass of peach iced tea. I took a very nice nap out there on the chaise today.

I wore a pair of white slacks and a short-sleeved Hawaiian shirt yesterday, two days early. So sue me.

Having recently lived in a place with a daytime high, year long, ranging from, say, 52 to 64, I am enjoying the heat of Albuquerque's May. I presume I will near die in August, but, maybe not, as it has been to 90 already and I am guessing I can take 100 here better than I remember taking it in my childhood in NYC or Chicago, what with the humidity.

Snow is not all so far from here - saw at least some flakes this last winter.
So far so good with the new climate. As long as I can still visit the Pacific Ocean once in a while, sob....

Eva--

Thanks for the invitation.

My House & Garden Beautiful Plans for the month involve spreading twelve cubic yards of mulch, one garden cart at a time.

I got the cart loaded this morning.....and it is sitting there in the sun.

Peach iced tea and civilized conversation sound wonderful.

Isn't Kicky's term almost up?

Kicky passed stepped down and made me, his vice president, A2K president, remember? And I'm never giving it up!

I don't think we voted for Vice President.

I think we've been taken over.

While it's not clear that Kicky actually stepped down in that final link, several months later (in a post I didn't see till just now) he confirmed this: http://www.able2know.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1701046#1701046

I had forgotten that I had a cabinet: Secretary of State Farmerman, White House Chief of Staff Nimh, Attorney General Lord Ellpus, Secretary of Treasury Sozobe. I guess the rest of the positions were never filled (YET!). But it seems that my cabinet members are doing a wonderful job on their own anyway.

I would, however, like to add one more official post: President's Minion Dagmaraka
