@mismi,
yep

(it was her recipe from a friend, and I only saw the printed basics)

Gonna make em bigger than golf balls, instead of quarter size...

@msolga,
Tonight is a dinner worth writing about. I had horse doovries, even. I packed a little pumpkin with chicken broth, olive oil, salt, bread cubes, spanish cheese, sage leaves, non-meat pepperoni bits, and toasted pine nuts.

While that's baking I ate slices of fresh-made crusty bread with roasted onion and garlic and goat cheese marinaded in olive oil, herbs and pepper.

MMm...mmm!

@littlek,
That's a good idea. I've got a couple of pretty little squashes that need to be baked - stuffed is a fun alternative to straight out baking - or turning them into soup.

@mismi,
Mismi, I'd never heard of tomato pie. That sounded good...

R, I've never been thrilled with my meatball making prowess - they never taste anything like the ones at the international market on Lincoln Blvd., which of course is gone now. People lined up out the door, but the lines went fast.
Every time I think of making meatballs, I end up doing meatloaf instead.

Tonight is pesto time - the pesto's already made, so I just have to cook the pasta.
I'm tired of veggie thai curry brown rice tofu soup...

I am sorry Beth - I was on a mission and I saw your interest in wanting the recipe so when I found it I posted it...I will allow more time next time. I know where to go to ask my questions now too...so sorry I pre-empted!

Thank you Osso - it smells good - I have it in the oven even as we speak!

@littlek,
What went wrong?

I was thinking some kind of sausage/stuffing combo for the pepper squash. I just got some fancy vegan stuffing stuff to try out.

@ehBeth,
Mine was too.... rich and bland at the same time. You know pumpkin is rich alone. I added cheese and olive oil, which might have been ok if I'd also added something sharper to the mix. Maybe chili pepper? It's a nice side dish, or maybe turkey stuffing.

@littlek,
ok - so a stuffed squash with a large salad with citrus and a tangy dressing
that could work

tonight was easy - I had 2 small grilled lamb chops, straight up - I'll have the veg part of the meal tomorrow

msolga. I enjoy leftover cold chicken sandwiches. If I may ask, does your screen name pertain to Russia, and/or the saint?

(A very early) dinner tonight - of various left-overs, including some of last night's roast chicken. Plus some freshly steamed French beans, tossed with a little butter & lots of ground black pepper, sprinkled with toasted almond flakes. I was starving when I got in from work tonight & need to eat right away!

No, not Russian, alex, but close! And nothing to do with a saint. (There was a Saint Olga? Wow. Really?) This'll give you a clue to my cultural identity. Wink :

Now I'm wondering if you are Russian, alex! ...Or a "he" or a "she"? Whichever, you sound like an excellent cook!

We have "horse's douvers" (sp?) in Oz, k.
Yours sound rather more up-market! Laughing

That sounded like a wonderful dinner! Sigh.

@msolga,
Hello msolga. Your Ukrainian. Neat.
I'm not Russian.
I'm a guy.
Haven't thought about dinner this morning.

@alex240101,
More Australian, really, alex.

Nice to know a bit more about you, too! (I was wondering if you were a professional cook!)

I haven't thought about tonight's dinner this morning, either .... Friday night tends not to be my best effort for the week!

@msolga,
Australia. My Michigan winter is close at hand. Want to swap seasons.
I enjoy cooking as a hobby, not proffesionally. Maybe one day, if the planets all align, and the wind is blowing the right direction, I'll open a restaurant.

Friday evening use to be pizza night here.

@msolga,
it was a silly spelling on purpose. And, the food, all of it together, was way too rich. But, I just have to remind myself once in a while what rich food does to me.....
