Tonight: penne & msolga's "Bolognese" sauce. I made a huge vat of the stuff yesterday afternoon, so there are around 7 more serves (!) in the freezer.
Anyway, it was very nice indeed!

@msolga,
I made chicken marsala yesterday for the first time. And I can say it turned out great - I was very happy about how yummy it was - how tender the chicken was. We had spinach salad with it - a creamy dressing and chopped green apples, golden raisins and chopped pecans. Even the kids liked it.

@mismi,
Set and I are at different stages of the cold that ate Toronto.

I wanted to make something Thanksgiving-y yesterday since I wasn't sure what today would bring in terms of coughing and sneezing.

For breakfast we had dressing with sausage and mushrooms.

For supper I made roasted chicken breasts, cooked over tiny new potatoes, celery, carrots, and the last of the onions. It was a really good meal. Everything was nice and tender. My neighbour Eva had given me some nice homemade Macedonian buns earlier in the day, so we had those with the chicken and veg. A nice comforting meal.

@sozobe,
Thankfully I'm at the end of the cold. Set's still in an earlier stage. The doggie-nurses are being very attentive to him.

@ehBeth,
I know...I just added the spinach because we had it and I wanted the boys to have the nutrients from it ...it was quite good.

Beth..what you made yesterday sounds yummy - I am sorry to hear that you and Set are still under the weather. Well thoughts sent your way!

edit: just read you were almost over it...glad to hear it..hope it is soon for Set.

@mismi,
Thank you, mismi and soz.

I'll admit things are quite pleasant at this very moment. The front and back doors are open. The sun is shining in brightly. I'm sipping tea out of the Portmeirion cup that I picked up at a thrift store the other day (part of two sets of cups and saucers, whooohooo!), and listening to lovely music that I downloaded free from the Tetley tea site. It's all so nice and civilized.

If I wasn't listening for coughing, it would be nirvana.

Tonight: roasted a free range chicken with potaotoes, carrots & parsnips. With green peas on the side. Not overly adventurous, but OK. Plus, lots left over for later!

@msolga,
msolga. I enjoy leftover cold chicken sandwiches. If I may ask, does your screen name pertain to Russia, and/or the saint?

I was thinking of trying Ossobucos anchovy clam spaghetti tonight. With a bit of tinkering.

@alex240101,
We had chicken pot pie...it was comforting. I added spinach to it which I do not usually do. I like it a lot. Fruit salad with it.

@mismi,
I am going a bit old country tonight. I am going to make ham bean soup. I have to go soak my beans. Apparently I am procrastinating....finding anything I can do here to distract me. Razz Thinking I will slice some of my last tomatoes (neighbor gave me yesterday) to go with it. I want a tomato pie - I need to look up my recipe for that.

@Rockhead,
Gram would know...can't handle the meat too much either...makes it tough. Get your stuff just mixed in roll your meatballs and be done. Did you bake them?
