I did a bit better tonight. Started with a peach, then a walk. When I got home I had one of those 100 calorie shortbread packets. After that I ate a peanut butter sandwich and a glass of milk followed by a bowl of strawberries with vanilla yogurt.

OK, I'll have to get a bit more sensible tonight, too. It's time, I think, for my (roughly) once a month steak. I've discovered it helps when I'm feeling run down, a bit feek & weeble .... (Still fighting this damned cold.)

Chicken Zinger burger (KFC) n chips - quick, easy and on the run!

Friend's husband, v. depressed, went walkabout over night - so it's all hands, including the police, out to look for him.

Finally found him after about 30 hours. Bloody knackered today. Had beef rice noodle soup (pho) for lunch! And a vanilla slice.

@margo,
That's the best excuse for indulging in KFC I've yet come across, margo! Wink

Seriously though .... it must be a huge relief that your friend's husband was finally found ... in one bit! Very scary stuff!

So (as your reward) you can eat absolutely ANYTHING you fancy tonight! NOTHING is out of bounds after last night's effort, OK?
Go for it! Very Happy

Tonight (after a very hectic running-around-non-stop sort of day) I dropped into my neighborhood Turkish kebab shop on my way home. I had something they call a "felafel kebab": on freshly baked Turkish bread, 3 cooked-right-under-my-nose felafel on a bed of salad greens, onions & some hummous (sp?). Not at all bad for fast food!

@msolga,
Had frost last night. Twenty-eight dergrees. Time to pull in all the stranded vegetables from the garden. Why am I telling you all this. Chicken noodle soup. There's always a debate on noodle width. I'm partial to wide.

@alex240101,
Then wide is perfect, Alex! Wink (Pay absolutely no attention to the pro-thin folk! What do they know?)

I'm very glad you did!
I was starting to think A2K folk (in the US, escpecially) had stopped eating dinner altogether, so consumed they appear to be by pre-election frenzy!
This is no excuse to stop eating, folks. You need to build up your strength!

Me, I may just skip a real dinner tonight. Maybe just a light snack later on. Had a late lunch in Little Saigon. Yes, my favourite dish there, Vietnamese "pancakes" again! Delicious as always. Followed by a big chunk of very good carrot cake with coffee later in the afternoon. <burp>

@msolga,
Looks like just two place settings again.
Never had a Vietnamese pancake.
Grilling sea bass and, the second to last, eggplant.

@alex240101,
last night was most definitely not good

I didn't really think.

We had to be at the hall at 5 - the show wasn't set to start til 8:30, didn't actually start til 9. We practiced intermittently from the tech run-through til the show started. The studio brought in snacks. I didn't want snacks. I had some yogurt in my bag. Ate the yogurt. Drank some water. Alice offered me some of her rice and tofu, which was really good. By the time the show was over, and we heading to the subway to get to the car to drive home, not much was open, but we were ravenous. So MickyD's in the subway it was. yecccchhhh. I'd forgotten how salty that stuff was. I think I drank about 2 bottles of water overnight. blecccchhhh

Tonight will be better and more interesting.

@ehBeth,
It is soup time, Alex. Last night I made roasted tomato soup with the near -to-last tomatoes from the garden. Yum.

@Swimpy,
I feel your tomato pain Swimpy. Nothing like a fresh B.L.T., with the tomato juice, dripping off your elbow....sigh....small tear.
Babyback ribs. Sweet corn, rough cut fries, garlic bread.
