Yeah I bench Wang on purpose the other day. I was already begind in wins and losing in loses for the week and Wang has been just getting by his past couple of starts. I didn't want him to face the Boston Line Up while on my roster.

Speaking about the Yanks visiting the Bosox, the latter team seems to have given up 39 runs in a mere 3 games!!!. Two more to go. The wheels seem to be falling off the Red Sox wagon.
And, JP(no name)inMilw: I traded you Beckett from the Rednecks to your team. We really miss Josh around the clubhouse. How is he doing for you, by the way?

Mr. Beckett has decided to follow the lead of the previuos pitchers on my staff and lose every game he starts. The only bright spot I have is my closers and Roy Halladay, who continues to win despite being on my team.

ps... nice win RJB... I think this is the second time in a row you whipped me pretty good.

There are going to be a lot of rained out games in the next couple of days from DC north.. Watch your lineups. One of my SP was rained out but pitched the next day when I had him on the bench. He did pretty well.

A strange group of new supporters of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Past Cellar Dwellers have arrived to the Fantasy Field.

They don't look very nice. In fact they look somewhat riotous.

They yell and chant this constantly:

"Ubi, zakolji, da Rappin' Crveniokovranik ne postoji!"

Through a translator, I found out that they noticed that we have a very important duel with the Rappin' Rednecks and that, unless there's an earthquake or something more serious, we'll face each other again next week.

What they say, translated, is: "Kill, slaughter, exterminate them Rappin' Rednecks!".

I'm trying to keep them calm. They say that if "we" lose, they'll "ubi and zakolji" me.

Why does it seem everyone breaks out of their slumps when they're playing me?

Half of my lineup is injured or was rained out yesterday.

-- but -- assuming it doesn't rain again, which it may very well do -- RP and I are going to the Sox game tomorrow, where we have a chance of seeing as many as 5 Puppies (and 1 No Need for a Name and 1 Sister, can't recall if there are any more, there must be) in action!!

You will see a couple Ticomaniacs -- Jonathan Papelbon & Troy Glaus (and a couple of former Ticomaniacs -- Alex Rios & A.J. Burnett).

Tomorrow? Would that be Sunday with the Bosox vs Toronto? If so, I have Lyle Overbay. He is batting over .300 and former Redneck Josh Beckett is starting for the Sox. Should be a beautiful day if the day after Ernesto in VA is any indication. Enjoy.

Hey, thanks! Smile

It's kinda rainy this AM. So I'm posting with my fingers crossed. This is harder than it may look.

If you watch the game, we're uh, the people wearing Sox jerseys and hats. Oops, that's almost everyone. We'll be near the bullpen, I think.

Yeah, I'm just saying ... A-Rod isn't helping me this week.

It's fitting that in the end of my 2006 Fantasy Baseball participation I'll go see the Padres battle the Reds.
I'm gonna be rooting for Piazza and Hoffman, since Peavy already made his succesful outing yesterday.

Gotta go to the ballpark!

So, like Tico vs JP, the Rednecks rematch with fbaezer in the playoffs this week. I did well against him last week, winning the matchup 14-7. I got off to a rocky start today though as I somehow left a good SP on the BN. His team won 6-2. And the guy who plays 2B (Giles?) had what could loosely be defined as a heart attack! Something involving "stapling" of an artery or a vein. Wish him well. His stats list him as being, I believe, Hispanic and 5'8" which strikes me as being pretty short compared to other players.
Anyway, I had to go shopping for another 2B.

I hadn't heard this. Was it Marcus Giles, the 2B for Atlanta? He's short, but not Hispanic, I don't think.

I'll look it up.

Yes, Marcus Giles ... malfunctioning heart valve. Only 27.

Craziness... Giles is a good player too.

I'm liking the start to this week much better, Tico.

I have no idea where I got the stupid notion that Marcus Giles was Hispanic!
But that error pales by comparison. The AP is reporting this afternoon that the diagnosis of a "heart defect" was wrong. More like acid indigestion or something like that. He was scheduled to rejoin the Braves and perhaps be in Wednesday's lineup.
