RJB's game is a lot of fun... and a lot of work for him. Thanks again for tackling it again, RJB.

The playoffs are the real thing, lady and gentlemen!
The key is not to finish 7th or 8th.

Then I'm out to get the Rappers and/or the Maniacs. While keeping an eye on the Sister.

Tico: In addition to NFL Fantasy play, there is a thread on A2K (which I have run for the last season and a half but which will be co-hosted by panzade this season if I can find him) where the simple object is to pick the winning teams each week. A minimal time investment; perhaps 10 minutes a week. I hope you will join us. I forget the name, which speaks volumes about the level of intelligence needed to participate!

I've already bookmarked it, RJB.

So only the top six players move on the playoffs? hmm. Tico and I are pretty much tied for 5th and 6th. We will meet next week in the decisive duel for 5th. Ane Pantalones is lurking right behind us.
Which reminds me of an old joke. You and a friend are walking in the woods. Suddenly you come face to face with an angry bear. Question: how fast do you have to run to get away from it. Answer: faster than the other guy.

Must ... resist ... playing ... fantasy ... football.

Seriously, I know not much more than squadoo about football, except Tom Brady is cute and they have to get first downs. And Terrell Owens is a pain in the patoot.

I am definitely going to go into withdrawal. This has been tremendous fun and I, too, am watching a lot more baseball than I used to. I was already a Sox fan, even before 2004, and would watch the games or most of the games when they were on, but now I find myself watching the Braves or Houston.

I believe that the first and second place teams (by the end of the regular season) will get a bye for the first week.

PS I am so obsessed I am seriously considering photoshopping a "team photo". Man, I need help.

Count me in for Fantasy Football.
And hockey, and whatever.

Jespah, have you tried Bush League Baseball? It's good for those of us who suffer from Fantasy Baseball withdrawals.

So I see that JP(no need for a name)inMilw had a pitcher on Monday who threw one inning and gave up six earned runs (an ERA of 54.) Amazingly, the pitcher accomplished that without giving up a homerun.
Okay, I know that Joe leads the rednecks in the matchup for the week. But the pitching categories look pretty favorable for me after one day.

Eclipsed by the 95 ERA put up by Kenny Rogers for me on July 25th.

------

Although he's not on anybody's roster -- and with good reason -- the Royal's Luke Hudson gave up 10 runs and retired one batter in 1/3 inning of work against Cleveland on Sunday. The result ..... a 270 ERA for the game.

Actually Hudson had 5 quality starts before Sunday's debacle.

He'll probably start the game Tico is going to attend. Not that I would actually want him, but I'd have him in my rotation anytime over Runelvys Hernandez. Twisted Evil

His ERA jumped up from 4.65 to 6.39 because of that gem.

Just what I needed ... Slappy got a Complete Game Shutout from Carpenter tonight.

Hate it when that happens.

I note, JP(noname)inMilw that you benched one of your SP's today: C Wang of the Yanks vs the Red Sox? Was that intentional?

I imagine not, either.

I have Wang on another league, and this afternoon when I logged in, I found out his game had already started. Third time it happens to me this week with that team (and it has meant 2 wins less).

Another reason it caught my eye was that Wang may or may not have gotten the win (good for JP/no name if he did) but Wang did not do all that well. overall. 3 ER's in 6 innings, more than a handful of walks. I think I would have benefited had he played today.

Speaking about the Yanks visiting the Bosox, the latter team seems to have given up 39 runs in a mere 3 games!!!. Two more to go. The wheels seem to be falling off the Red Sox wagon.
And, JP(no name)inMilw: I traded you Beckett from the Rednecks to your team. We really miss Josh around the clubhouse. How is he doing for you, by the way?

This is why I decided to pass on Mr. Beckett, despite the interesting facial hair (ever wonder how I choose players? Well, hair matters. Oops, I've said too much).
