The Rednecks had quite a good week due to or in spite of the postponements. I have several Red Sox on my roster. Next up: Tico.
By my reckoning, after this week we will each have played each other once. Rematch time next week.
I am turning down your trade suggestion, jpinmilw. Now had you offered to throw in a few pounds of genuine Milwaukee bratwurst...

Well I have an inside track on Milwaukee Bratwurst and you have a plethora of relievers... so if you're in the mood to make a deal... just let me know.

Yep, this is the last week of seeing a different team before we start over again. Joe and I square off against each other.

Question, since we don't play during the All-Star break -- hmm she says, having not thought this through one iota -- would we do anything? Other than bask in the glory that is our rosters?

We bask in the glory that is our rosters... also known as sit and wait for a week.

If you like.

Used to be able to get Guiness-flavored ice cream in the supermarket. It had unsalted pretzels in it, Guiness, and a little chocolate. It was very vanilla malty and oh so tasty. Perhaps I'll try to make some this summer; we have an ice cream maker and don't use it much.

Damn that sounds good... I always wanted to make a rootbeer float but with Guiness. Never done it but now I think I might try.

Tico...It is none of my business, but it appears to me that one of your pitchers is scheduled to start tonight and you have him on the bench. Is he that bad or an oversight? johnboy.

Ouch. Tico has gotten very clever this week. He benched most all of his pitching staff. I win in a few categories (IP, W, SV etc) But I lose in a number of others due simply to his pitchers' absence. ER, HR BB, ERA, WHIP etc. You can win a category by not playing anyone. He is doing well with that strategy.
Meanwhile, his hitters have done very, very well.

He's not that bad (5-1 at the time), and it wasn't an oversight ... and he got rocked for a 14.73 ERA loss Tuesday night.

Well, I started in a hole with Beckett's good outing for you on Monday (7 IP, 1.29 ERA, 6 K, 0 BB), so I thought I'd try a different strategy this week.

Ticomaniac hitting not so strong tonight, however.

Well... it's interleague play time. The Sox and Cubs are going head to head and I have both starters for todays game. I'm taking a chance starting Buehrle and benching Maddox... we'll see.

I can change the league settings to have a minimum of innings pitched per week. Meaning if you don't have the minimum number of innings pitched you don't get credit for any of the pitching categories.

It is a pretty fair offer, and I really had to think it through. But I decided to decline. The rolling eyes were because I couldn't find a better 'thinking emoticon'.

What trade?

jp, I might be able to make you a good deal on one 6'10" pitcher, and a slightly banged up outfielder, both Yankees.

Let me know ....
