I have a simple request: Would David Wright please hit a grand slam off of Tim Hudson in the next hour or two?

Thanks.

Hi...I just got back from Chicago a couple of hours ago and checked in on Yahoo to see how badly I had beaten the Pancakes. Ouch! Rednecks went down 11-10. I haven't analyzed what caused the dramatic reversal from when I left on Thursday ahead something like 14-2. Well done, Pancake.
Chicago is a great city. First time in many years that I had spent any amount of time there as a tourist. And it was fun to meet, for the first time, some of the A2Ker's.

Is anyone having problems logging in to the Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball page?

I get this:

There was a problem:
• You cannot make changes to your roster for this date. (Error #157)

And I swear, if I find that fbaezer is behind this I'm just gonna have to beat his team twice as hard.

I made a change today with no problem. I am trying to beef up my pitching staff a bit. We're doing quite well on saves, but not too well on innings pitched. Of course, forgetting to put a scheduled starting pitcher in the lineup doesn't help.

Did you maybe try to make a change when the game was starting?

I benched Padilla and he lost. Am I bright or what?

Actually, if I were bright I would've benched a lot of pitchers in previous matchups.
And yes, I admit my draft went astray. I've dumped 4 of my starters who either are on the DL or should be, given their lousy pitching.

And, yes again. Pantalones, have some pantalones (no alibis allowed) after you lose this one against the last place holder.

If I lose to the Raiders I'll admit my defeat. But I won't lose of course. And I won't use any excuses because I know checked the lineup for today and I would've only made one change.

(Fantasy baseball is making me cocky... it's like an addiction and I like it!)

Okay ... ESPN is televising the Red Socks v. Yankees game ... Boston's up 4-3, bottom of the 8th, 2 outs ... they just called Papelbon in to close.

Thank you for not watching the end of that game.

PS I had an awful day of hitting yesterday. Anyone who played (and a bunch didn't because of rainouts) batted a .000 except for Jones (.200) and Taveras (.250). 'Twas ugly.

You're welcome. I do what I can ....

I don't want to brag, but since I haven't had the opportunity to do much of it this season, I will ....

Troy Glaus was 2/4 (.500) with both hits being home runs, 4 RBIs
Nick Swisher was 2/4 (.500) with both hits being home runs, 2 RBIs
Derek Jeter was 3/5 (.750) with 3 SB.
Jose Vidro was 3-5 (.600)
My 2 active pitchers recorded a Win (ERA 1.25) and a Save.

'Twas a good day for the Ticomaniacs.

I have a player (F. Lopez) who had 4 stolen bases on Wed! He doesn't hit home runs. He just gets singles and walks and then he runs. Everyone knows he is going to try to steal, but in that game at least they couldn't stop him.
And this: On Sunday, one or two of my hitters will be swinging with pink bats in honor of Mother's Day. You can bet they'll take some ribbing (but it is part of a breast cancer awareness promotion).

Heh ... meanwhile, yesterday:

Troy Glaus was 0/4
Nick Swisher was 0/3
Derek Jeter was 0/3
Jose Vidro was 0/4

I had a bad batting day again yesterday, too. The only reason Big Papi did not join the stinkfest is because today's game was rained out. Ooof.

Don't you mean woof?

It's been an exceptional week for my pitchers except D-Train and J. Weaver.

My hitting has been sub-par but poor fbaezer's has been even worse so that puts me on top by a comfortable lead so far.

And today I decided not to let Weaver play for my team, so I guess you can score a run on jpin's right column and one on my wrong column.

My raiders went to the tamales vendor, and raided all her stuff. At first, the tamales were yummy, and we were devouring them, specially through good pitchin'... but then something happened, I think Pantalones accidentally (I can't believe he thought about it... like he was about to activate Weaver, dahh!) dropped about a ton of habanero sauce inside them tamales. They were hot! They were fierce!... and we lost again.

So it's supposed to rain here until, erm, 2087. At least the Sawx are in Baltimore. Maybe they'll actually play a game.
