i looked but couldn't find anywhere to change DL player settings. I'm not sure what it is set at now. May aswell try it.

Doesn't appear to be a customizable setting. As it says in the rules: "All Public Leagues have one DL spot, while Custom League commissioners can choose to have up to five DL positions."

We are a custom league... they may mean the Plus leagues though which we are not.

Days like this are tough.

I have maddux pitching against milwaukee and I also have Carlos Lee. You can almost be assured that if one has a good day the other will have a bad one.

I like eight teams because that means I can not rank lower than eighth. Beware the Fister Sisters. Whatever Joe did is definitely working.

I like only eight teams on the tourney, keeps it close and friendly. And honestly, the only thing that I'm doing is being lucky.

Looks like Maddux won this one.

Re > 1 guy on the DL -- you can bench your other injured guys. You can also pick up someone in exchange for one of the injured guys, so you might as well put the guy on the DL who's going to be there the longest, assuming you don't want to just drop him.

I also like the 8-person league. It's been fun, paying attention to players and teams I wouldn't normally care about. When your own pitcher and hitter face each other, you find yourself yelling things like this at your TV: "Hit it! But not too hard!"

Yeah, luckily I have two guys on the 15-day DL so it's not so bad. First Todd Helton, I sent him to the DL to call Omar Vizquel up, luckily Ryan Howard has been stepping it up pretty nicely and now Jorge CantĂș which leaves me with a slumping Rickie Weeks. Now if only Vizquel or Tejada were 2nd basemen.

I'd just like you all to know that now that I am in first place I will not be surrendering it for the rest of the season. Good luck to the rest of you playing for second place.

Ouch!

Well now that being humiliated is out of my team's system I'm ready to climb to first place.

Sweet! The Rednecks finished in a 12-12 tie with the Sister. I was down 14-2 going into Sunday's games but my guys, hitters and pitchers, had a fine day (well, pretty fine. Schilling lost). Chris Capuano of Milw threw a great game, pitching a shut out, perhaps the first one for any of us.
By the way, a final score of 12-12 means Sister and the 'Necks did not tie in a single category. That has to be a rarity.

The League results are the official standings but here is where we rank in matchups through April:
(1) JPinmilw.............. 3-1-0 (He's ranked 1st in League)
(1) Pancake.............. 3-1-0 (Ranked 2nd)
(3) Rednecks ........... 2-1-1 (5th)
(4) Puppies .............. 2-2-0 (3rd)
(4) Tamales ............. 2-2-0 (4th-but may be tied for 3rd. I forget)
(6) Sister ................. 1-2-1 (7th)
(7) Tico .................... 1-3-0 (6th)
(7) Pancho ............... 1-3-0 (8th)

Actually, pancake and I are tied for 2d, same # of games back (4), but I rank just a hair after him because I think I have one more loss or maybe it's one more tie. Something like that.

The AP wrote:
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Troy Glaus broke out of his lengthy slump in a big way, and his timing couldn't have been better for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Glaus went 4-for-5 with two homers, two doubles and four RBIs, leading Toronto past the Baltimore Orioles 9-7 on Monday night.

But of course I -- putting my substantial baseball acumen on display for all to see -- today decided to bench Glaus in favor of slightly less slumping Mark Teixeira, who proceeded to get just a single tonight.

<sigh>

I'm with you, Tico. I decided not to start the struggling Barry Zito last night who went 7.2 innings and gave up zero ER to earn a win for the evening.

The Pancho Villa Raiders had it even worse. He benched Podsednik who went 4/5 with 3 runs 4 stolen bases and a walk... ouch Shocked

I guess sometimes when they're struggling that just means they're "due."

Yeah, I benched Big Puppy (er, David Ortiz) the other day (fortunately, not yesterday), and paid for it.

i have Buehrle and Sabathia going head to head today. I only started Buehrle thinking that Sabathia hasn't pitched in awhile due to an injury and would be rusty. 1st inning for Sabathia... 3 up, 3 down. We'll see if I guessed right.

On Monday, the hitters in flatasapancake's (my opponent this week) line up hit a collective .107 -- keep it up, guys.
