Yep, jp, I predict we'll end the week more or less flat. We have, what 6 teams within 2 games of each other?

Dunno if anyone else has been using these, but since the live stats went away, one thing I look at are ESPN player pages, e. g. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/players/6980/ (that happens to be Travis Hafner) and the scores, which ESPN provides in box score during a game, whereas MLB doesn't seem to, e. g. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/boxscores/2006/04/20/14412_boxscore.html (that's the Indians-Orioles game, going on right now -- bottom of the 7th).

I don't love it but I really don't want to be paying for these stats.

You can also use the gameday option on mlb.com (click on the little field icon of any game in progress)

there is navigation at the top of the window that easily lets you move from game to game and view individual and team stats. Sometimes it gets a little bit behind but for the most part it is up to date. It even tells you pitch by pitch the action going on in the game.

That's a good idea. I also just found the News & Expert Advice tab on Yahoo sports.

Have you guys checked out Yahoo's "Gamechannel" function? I just stumbled on it, and it's pretty cool.

Yep ... if you click on a game in progress (i.e., by clicking on the game time link), you'll find a link for it towards the top of the page, next to the "Boxscore" link.

But I think I'll just add a bookmark to your link.

Of course Yahoo will probably start charging for this next week. Rolling Eyes

So on Friday my line up of hitters, as a group, had a batting average of .179 and my starting pitcher went 7 innings giving up something like 7 earned runs. Can we just forget about Friday?

After saying "Hasta la vista, Baby!" to the Ticomaniacs, the Pancho Villa Raiders are back into contention.

What happened to the Onomastic Chamaleons?
And how the hell did Sister Fister manage to win this week?

Hey Tico,

Nice pick-up of Gomes... I don't know how he stayed under my radar for so long.

The Raiders benefited last week from some anemic hitting by the Ticos, the pitiful pitching efforts of now former Ticomaniacs Batiste and Westbrook, and a record setting 12 GDP.

Hopefully the ship has been righted, and we will perform to our capabilities in the future.
