My starting pitchers are doing the unthinkable: they're ALL losing their games. Sad

Pitching has been far from spectacular so far this season. A lot of so called aces have had some really bad starts. I hope your luck changes soon fb...after this week of course

Steal of the draft:

Jim Thome by the Boston Puppies in the 19th round... he has been tearing it up.

You had a real good day yesterday, Jespah. I am trailing pretty badly. But there are four days left so I'm going to start playing hardball (um, Johnboy, baseball IS hardball). I have been trying to kick puppies wearing flip-flops. I just put on my combat boots with the steel reinforced toes.

Yip!

The puppies are wearing little doggie suits of armor, knitted by God-fearing Lithuanian grandmothers temporarily exiled to Dubuque. And, they are eating cheese.

And you know what happens when dogs eat cheese.

I may be mistaken, but I don't believe any of us has a pitcher who has thrown a complete game. My two best guys are starting tonight.

Yep, and Schilling was of course wonderful. It's funny, I was hoping for the Red Sox to win, but not by a good pitching performance. Ah, well. Smile

I see you're a little ahead of me again, I suspect the week will end with you a bit ahead of me but we'll see.

John Smoltz got a win, a complete game and a shutout.
Tico dropped him a few days ago... and none of us picked him.

And he had to do it against Peavy's best game this season and against the Padres

Down to the wire, Jespah, between the Puppies and Rednecks (9 to 9). Your points are pretty safe; as are mine. In play are the categories in which we are tied: Walks and GIDP on the hitting side and Strikeouts on the pitching side.

You got a good boost from Schilling's performance the other day, I'm sure he'll do right by you next week, too.

I was watching ESPN the other day and pitching in general isn't what it was last year, probably due at least in part to drug testing, there may or may not be a juiced ball and maybe it's just something in the water.

According to my reckoning, the Rappin Rednecks will triumph over the Boston Puppies by a score of 12-10. Not that I am paying much attention.

Well we ahve a pretty close league going on here. 5 of us all within 2 games of the leader... the other 2 teams... not doing so hot. Slappy's Sister Fister is not very active (If he doesn't show up to play I have power to drop all of his players or edit his roster) and the Pancho Villa Raiders, after a beating from the Milwaukee Ballers had a tough pitching week.

This weeks victim... The Boston Puppies.

I'm humbled and humilliated... and thankful that Sister Fister is not very active... I'd be in last place.

<puppies howl>

Well, it was 13 - 8 last week, yes?

You can see why I was so far ahead after Week 1, it's because Slappy hasn't been too active. I imagine we'll all continue to stay very close to each other on points.

If slappy doesn't start showing up should we have a mini draft with his players or should I just start managing his roster?

If we draft his players I would dump all of his players and pick up scrubs. We would each take a turn picking up his players based on lowest to highest ranking (ie raiders would pick first player then the pancakes, tico, tamales etc.).

Whoever plays the sister fisters would have an almost guaranteed good week.

or

I can manage his team but it is kind of a pain in the butt because when I do it, it doesn't say who plays on which days.
