By the way... we have a couple of good matchups going on.
After tying it up with Tico yesterday, he pulls ahead to day with an 11 to 8 lead.
Pancho Villa came back from way down to tie things up at 10 with the red necks.
Sister fisters are going in the wrong diirection... down 13 to the puppies.
And the Tamales have made up some ground against the Pancakes.

(7/1.333)*9
Earned runs allowed/ innings pitched multiplied by 9 (number of innings in a baseball game).
This means Zito would have allowed 47.25 earned runs in a 9 inning game.
Ahh ... it was the "multiply by 9" part I wasn't understanding. Makes sense now.

Oh yes. the Raiders are coming back. His roster is heavily staffed with pitchers; mine with batters. Yet, through Wednesday, 7 of his points have come from the batters in his lineups and 6 of mine have come from pitchers. I reckon there were some high scoring games that skewed things, but I am only behind by a point or so in several categories. My hope is that he has used up his roster of starting pitchers and won't be able to run them again until after Saturday if that is the end of the week.

That happens quite often, rjb. That is the thing about pitchers... you only get one game every 5 days if you're lucky.
The end of the fantasy baseball week is sunday, realjohnboy. Or it was last year.

The Tamales against the Pancakes.
We can call that The A2K Fantasy Baseball Culinary Classic
It's all about tradition in baseball.
I reckon you are correct, fbaezer, about the "week" ending after Sunday's games. The first week, though, is listed as April 2nd to 9th (which includes two Sundays).
Well I think I may have mis-underestimated the Ticomaniacs... those boys can hit!
In honor of the weekend and dinner with friends at my favorite Mexican restaurant, Jalapeno Loco, the Milwaukee Brewers are now the Milwaukee Cerveceros!
D-Lee is having another big game for you, Tico. As of the 4th he already has 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB and 2 runs.

Yeah, well he didn't have to ground into a double play.

Does this mean I have to be the Boston Perritos?
Well, I'll be the "Tacomanics," obviously.
Are you guys joining us at Jalapeno Loco??? I'll get the first round of Bohemia.

Does that make me the tamales? .... ¡un momento!
I forget how to say neck in Spanish, so rjb's team would be the Rappin' Roja __s?
And Slappy's would be Hermosa Fister?
Arriba!
A literal translation of Rednecks is fine; but it was a derogatory term at one time, describing poor white folks, living in shacks with outhouses, with strong anti-black feelings.
A couple of generations later, the word is kind of an inside joke for us southerners; one we use for the amusement of yankees. "I'm just a dumb redneck." I have heard that phrase used by some of my black employees. Finding a word or words to translate "rednecks" would certainly be a challenge.
