That would SO explain the explosion of flesh that has become my ass.
Joints: Glucosamine pills, which are over the counter.
I bought a bottle once, but didn't keep up with the 3 per day at different times schedule. A friend of mine who was a pro baseball catcher thought it really worked for him. His hands are all f**ked up from catching 90mph fastballs.

I take medicine 3 times a day now, so that won't be a problem for me.

In fact, if I'm on a road trip and pass a farm, I look for the bull. Then I bite right into his testicles for a 100% direct dose of testosterone. My back looks like a pizza decorated with acid, but it's worth it.
For protien, I walk into the grocery store, and attack the chicken section. I'm immune to salmonella(sp?) poisoning now from eating 7lbs of raw chicken daily. Nobody tries to kick me out of the store, because my lats are each the size of a Hummer H2.
I just throw peanut butter, ziti, and creatine in a blender for a late-night snack.
It's embarrassing walking into a business meeting, and forgetting to remove the syringe from my neck.
Anyway, flax seed oil is right in the vitamin section. They make it in pill form also, as well as fish oil, borage, and omega-3's.
the image Slappy sees in his bathroom mirror:
The flax oil and whey protein is what gives the smoothies the holding power. Flax oil is a natural appetite suppressant and the whey (not soy, if you're using flax) protein will keep you full through the morning.
For joints try a glucosamine/condroitin combo. They're in the same area of the store as the flax oil.
Also, DO NOT USE FLAX OIL if you are taking any kind of blood thinner including aspirin therapy, warfarin, or coumadin. 1 Tbs of flax oil has the same cardio-vascular benefits as taking one baby aspirin per day.
You think whey will keep you full? It's the fastest digesting protien available. Bodybuilders & weightlifters use it soley for after a workout, to quickly replenish.
Soy and milk are slower digesting, wouldn't that keep you full longer?
Region, similar, except the part about the chicken head not hanging out of his mouth.
Whey will keep you full if you use it with the flax. Soy instead of whey/flax is an alternative protein source.

I am starting to stretch and do yoga again but I think I need to lubricate my joints.
Essential Omega-3 fatty acids are important for joint health as well. It acts a a natural lubricant inside the body and is good for heart health too.

Just wondering if you know why, or how. I'm just thinking since it's the faster digesting protien compared to the alternatives, why would it keep you full longer?

For real? I should take this stuff then because I have heart disease and arterialsc...arterialschlor.....ar....****....hardening of the arteries that run in my family. Head it off while I am young, right?
I am going to have a shopping cart full of **** when this is over.
What should I get then? Glucosamine w/ condrotin and flax oil? Or do I need to pick up the Omega stuff too?
I'm not sure, Slappy. I've got tons of info here I can skim through and see if it's explained. Probably the effects of the flax oil slowing down the digestion of the protein but I'll try to find out.
Bella, the flax oil is a vegetable source of omega 3s. Fish oil is an animal source. If you use the flax oil, you're covered.
Does flax bread give the same benefits?
Cool. So just flax oil and glucosamine? Or just flax oil period?
DrewDad, The flax bread will have the same benefits only if it uses ground flax seeds. The benefit is in the oil which your body will not extract on its own. Lots of products are being made with flax seeds these days but that will only boost the insoluble fiber, it won't help with omega 3s unless they're ground. The problem with trying to get omega 3s out of a cooked product is that the oil turns rancid when heated. Don't cook with it and do store the liquid in the refrigerator!!! If you put ground flax meal in bread dough and then bake it, it will at least partially denature. The best way to get omega 3s from flax is to use the oil as an supplement, either via liquid or gel-cap, or to stir ground flax seeds into foods as you are about to eat them. I use the oil in smoothies or mix the ground flax meal into yogurt or sprinkle it on cereal. The easiest, but probably more expensive method is gel-caps, which are generally stored at room temp.
Bella, the glucosamine or glucosamine/condroitin is a different beast altogether than the flax oil. If you're going to do just one, go with the flax oil. If you see an improvement then great, if not then think about adding the other. BUT, I would be wary of adding much of anything unless you check for contraindications with your current meds.
The only contraindication for flax oil that I'm aware of is blood thinners. I just did an online check and didn't find any others. You might want to look up your specific meds (or ask your dr) to make sure there are no contraindications for your meds and essential oils or blood thinners.
Ok so now....I made my smoothie last night so that this morning I could just get up and take it on my way to work. I used bananas, yogurt, milk, the flax oil and protein powder. I expected it to darken because of the bananas but it also seemed to ferment...the top was a little foamy and fluffy.
So, my question is whether or not I should drink this. Is there something in this smoothie that reacted and caused it to become something I shouldn't drink? Should I have not made it last night? I have my breakfast staring me in the face and I am afraid to drink it!
I don't know what would turn bad overnight. Drink it, you wimp.
