Oh! I had assumed it was a leopard frog, but google searching has me convinced that it is a Rana palustris - Pickerel Frog

Very nice color. Pastels. and it's what they call 50/50 , dark on one side and light on the other with the frog in the middle.

Beautiful stuff.

There's a big, old cemetery near my house. Like, multiple city blocks, and the older bits as old as the town. This is reminding me that I've got to stroll through there one of these summer days. Lots of beautiful old houses around it, too.

Thanks, k.

Sure Pdawg, go to the cemetery in the fall if there's lots of trees. Take some photos and show us.

You know, for a minute I was trying to figure out what you meant by that. I was considering a frog with a sense of style.

Hi Reyn, everything going well?

Hey, thanks for asking. I'm generally fine, but my wife going through some health challenges at the moment. She's got a major operation coming up next month and needs some further testing as a result of a "suspicious" mammogram. We're holding our breath on this one.

Too many worrisome things happening at one time.

Reyn, I'm sorry to hear about your wife's health issues. Does she have a good support group? Do you?

Amigo - the frog does seem to have style. Look were it chose to sit. It's almost as if it knows where it looks good.

These pictures are great. You must have an exceptional good camera,
littlek, and a good eye too Smile

Reyn, I am sorry to hear that. I wish your wife all the best and hope
you'll both get through this with flying colors. Good luck to you and your
wife!

Littlek, that frog does have style. I've noticed that with so many animals--walking along the shore looking at birds and their color designs, even brown pelicans look so elegant skimming the water.

It become clear that animals infuenced our sense of style and color. There are some that look like abstract, spectacular African cloth, or high-end pinstripe suits. Loons are perhaps the most stylish of all, except for tigers and leopards, oh and snakes and fawns and, and, and...

Diane, great point! I bet all of our aesthetic tastes come from nature (including our own heart beats).

Geez, I already put my best ones up. Surprisingly, I didn't take that many photos of stuff between fall and now. I have mostly got photos of family during that time. I'll post more sometime.
